Our client is a well-respected and successful control systems integrator and engineering firm headquartered in central Illinois.
They are seeking Senior Controls Engineers to fill positions in their Decatur, Illinois office.
The individuals in these roles will design, program, and provide start-up support for PLC and SCADA systems for industrial clients.

Well versed in control systems.
Capable of taking a project from start to finish.
This would include meeting the customer to understand what the need is, designing, building, programming, commissioning and handing off the finished system.
Proficient in PLC and HMI programming.
Relational database experienced and computer programming experience is a plus.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Job Skills and Degree

Requirements:
Applicable Degree in Engineering or five years project engineering and/or project management experience on control system integration projects.
Experiences should include PLCs, PCs, HMI, SCADA software, motion control, material handling, device communication protocols and networking.
Proficiency in at least one programming language required.Organizational Relationship:The Senior Controls Engineer reports directly to the Engineering ManagerSpecific

Responsibilities:
Electrical design and hardware specification.
Design and program sophisticated control systems.
Simulate, test, and debug control systems in-house Install and startup systems at the end-users facility.
Provide continuing system technical support over the phone or on-site.

Job Summary: The Process Controls Engineer position will comprise of several components related to process control and plant automation. These components include all aspects related to process plant automation and controls from system specification, installation, and application development. Ideal candidates would have more than 5 years' experience with more than one of the following skills. Job Responsibilities: * The ability to understand and follow written standards and develop process applications based upon those standards * The ideal candidate would have experience with writing and developing standards for process control systems or applications * The candidate should have the ability to take direction from several business units within a company including project management teams, engineering and plant management * The ability to communicate and track project work for various levels of plant personnel will be essential * The ideal candidate should be able to work in a team environment, as well as work independently as a project requires * The candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve process control issues and support colleagues at other plant locations with similar issues * Programming and application experience with a Distributed Control System, with preference to the NovaTech D/3 process control system The candidate must be able to develop applications that have personal and process safety as part of the overall control strategy for a process Job Requirements: * The ideal candidate will have experience with or the ability to train others in specialized areas of process controls * This training may be at various operations and skill levels within the company * The ability to develop ideas and communicate effectively will be essential * Experience with programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers with emphasis on Quantum platform controllers, Allen Bradley Control Logix, Plant PAX, and OSI PI.
