Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate the improvement of financial analyses and controls at the Corporate level and to act as the primary link between Corporate and Plant finance (12-14 locations in North America)
Attends monthly Plant Operations Reviews , ensures that financial presentations follow prescribed format and that outstanding items outlined within meeting are resolved and reported accurately
Prepares and submits monthly reporting packages including divisional EBIT walks, divisional financial statements, consolidation statements (MTD and YTD IS, monthly BS, cash flows, capital and tooling report)
Works co-operatively with external auditors
Responsible for communication of assumptions for budgeting and forecasting, distributing input files/templates and detailed budget instructions
Ensures that all plant controllers follow assumptions
Responsible for preparing and reviewing budgets in detail (income statement and balance sheets)
Prepares reports for budget financial statements including income statement, balance sheets, cash flows, capital, tooling and other reports as required
Ensures that plant’s financial statements are reviewed on a quarterly basis
Ensures compliance with company's Accounting Policies and Procedures
Ensures compliance with GAAP.
Responsible for preparing all cost center rates and surcharges for tender calculations. This will involve direct involvement with plant controllers and understanding the various aspects of the work centers and how they are costed (to be updated/reviewed at least annually)
Track major programs (i.e. that meet requirements for sales controlling involvement) throughout the program build to ensure objectives are met up to and after SOP
Works to ensure rules for transfer prices are followed
Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
Exercises judgement re: Accuracy of financial records, Appropriateness of financial systems and internal controls based on company requirements, Assessing various levels of risk concerning financial investments, and Review of plant’s budgets and forecasts
Accountability in areas of: Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements and legal documents and sharing all financial information with management in a timely manner, and supporting Plant Controllers and Plant Managers with timely review of analyses and general advice in a timely manner
Establishes/maintains relationships: Plant Controllers and Plant Managers, VP Finance, Director of Finance & Treasury, Corporate Purchasing Manager, VP Operations, Corporate IT Manager, Corporate Engineering and R&D departments, and the EVP of Sales and Sales group
Required Qualifications:
Must have 7+ years of relatable experience, as outlined in above responsibilities
Will need a minimum of 5 years of current experience working for a Tier 1 automotive employer, with sound understanding of automotive industry and manufacturing practices
Minimum 3+ years’ work experience in a Senior management capacity
Willingness to travel
Enthusiastic attitude and ambitious to grow and develop into next level position
Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS, pertinent tax legislation.

Financial Accounting ERP Systems and Excel experience
