The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Senior Controller. The Senior Controller has overall responsibility for the Management of all financial processes and activities of Xylem's Analytics North America entities (YSI / OI / CMS / Tideland / ISS) including budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and reporting, inventory and cost control, general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, insurance and taxes. This role will work closely with Analytics Global Finance Organization to control its financial resources and ensure that all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.

Member of the Analytics North America Leadership team, supports business analysis and key processes across all organizations, developing tools and processes to monitor business performance against strategic plans.


Essential Duties/Principal

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to US GAAP

  • Responsible for planning and budget processes, including ongoing variance analysis

  • Partnering with Finance Team Leaders in representing the company during financial audits including SOX.

  • Analyze the organization's revenues, liabilities, credit conditions, and other financial indicators to forecast its short, medium, and long-term business performance and cash flow position; evaluate and recommend investments, funding sources, and other financial instruments that will meet these cash flow needs.

  • Management, coordination and development of local finance organizations.

  • Provide technical expertise and advice on financial issues to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.

  • Select, and manage ongoing relationships with, external consultants and advisors (for example tax advisors, accounting firms) to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

  • Management of all financial processes & activities of Analytics North America entities in close cooperation with Analytics Global Finance Organization

  • Member of the Analytics North America Leadership team, supports business analysis and key processes across all organizations, developing tools and processes to monitor business performance against strategic plans.

  • Partner with and Advise Business unit's senior management on financial matters

  • Leadership and development of Analytics North America Finance Organization

  • Drive / Support strategic initiatives in collaboration with Analytics North America Leadership team and Xylem Global Finance Team

  • Optimization of internal reporting / metrics system, which are used for the basis of performance measurement, cost optimization, and management decisions

  • Ensure all relevant financial information required by the company is accurate, transparent and on time. Ensures effectiveness of financial controls across North America entities, and compliance to accounting standards and regulatory provisions

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA and/or MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, with both financial and general accounting background

  • Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience.

  • Expert knowledge of financial reporting and financial planning.

  • Strong communication (written and oral), presentation and leadership skills.

  • High technical aptitude, including strong understanding of computer systems to include Excel, Hyperion, and Power Point. Oracle ERP system experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage local and remote team members

  • Well organized and self-motivated.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Ability to meet designated deadlines.
