The impact you'll have

As our Senior Contracts Administrator, you will work closely with our SVP, Contracts reviewing and approving agreements with clients, subcontractors, vendors and partners. Your work is essential in establishing proper business relationships with our clients and partners.

What you'll do

  • You will provide input to customer requests for proposals as needed

  • You will review and approve company work statements and maintains contracts working files

  • You will be the primary resource in drafting routine contracts or legal agreements and correspondence along with contract briefs

  • You will use your skills in negotiating contract terms with customers and suppliers consistent with company practice and risk mitigation strategies. You will then coordinate, and document internal reviews and approvals as required by the company Authority Matrix

  • You will be expected to retain and maintains file of prepared legal documents

  • You will research contract issues and provides analysis and recommendations to company stakeholders

  • You are encouraged to maintains awareness of legal and procedural requirements and trends in order to effectively negotiate and administer contracts

  • You will get to develop and deliver periodic contracts related training

Who you are

  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive relevant commercial contract and subcontract administration experience

  • Ideally, you have worked in an agency or professional services environment with digital marketing engagements

  • You are known for your excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills

  • You are very self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently

  • Preferably, you have a Bachelor's degree

VIEW JOBS 1/18/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-17T00:00 Job Location: United States : New York : New York     Role Value Proposition:  This position is responsible for the development and regulatory filing of contracts and other related forms and documents in support of the Stable Value Contracts team within the Retirement & Income Solutions (“RIS”) organization. Retirement & Income Solutions, in MetLife’s U.S. Business division, delivers retirement and benefit funding solutions in specialized markets.  Retirement & Income Solutions is a leading provider of stable value products, structured settlements, annuities for employer plans, and life insurance funding products.  The Retirement & Income Solutions Contracts organization works closely with legal and the product and sales teams to develop and file contracts for existing product sales as well as the contracts required for new product introductions.    Key Responsibilities:   * Develops contracts and related forms mostly for highly complex products for MetLife’s RIS organization.  The forms include contracts, amendments, endorsements, and other regulatory submissions such as memos of operation. * Analyze contracts and review applicable laws and regulations to ensure contracts filed are in compliance; recommends alternative strategies when appropriate. * Draft and coordinate the development of investment management agreements associated with MetLife separate accounts. * Partner with internal business partners including actuarial, legal, sales, finance, marketing, and product to identify product specifications and contract requirements. * Research and respond to internal and external customer questions regarding contract features and compliance.  * Respond to insurance regulators on questions related to contractual filings. Establishes a good working relationship with insurance regulatory personnel to expedite the product approval process. * May provide technical support in the analysis of new product development and contract-related analysis required for due diligence activities. * Coordinate cross-functional projects, as required. * May guide the activities of lower level staff members. * Addresses nonstandard assignments and may devise solutions without precedent. * Demonstrates high level of impact and influence when working with other internal MetLife departments or when negotiating with outside state insurance departments. * Performs other related duties as assigned or required   Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required: * 6-8+ years relevant experience * Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel * Strong analytical, problem solving and research skills * Strong interest in identifying opportunities for digital/automated business solutions, integrating technology, and process improvements * Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multitask * Outcome-focused, self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and a team player * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Highly focused on timeliness and meeting deadlines   Preferred: * Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred * In-depth knowledge of insurance laws and regulations pertaining to contracts and filing procedures * Knowledge of the qualified and non-qualified plan marketplace and retirement and savings benefit programs * Advanced technical knowledge and skills in group contract work for applicable products * Ability to interact and work collaboratively and constructively with people at various levels within RIS and with regulators at state departments of insurance   Business Category Compliance   Number of Openings 1     At MetLife, we’re leading the global transformation of an industry we’ve long defined.
