This position is integral in ensuring effective and relevant Middle Office and Commercial and Marketing contract compliance environments. The Senior Contract Administrator drives continuous improvement of trading contract maintenance and monitoring activities and works to execute and improve the Middle Office function while engaging and collaborating with others across the Commercial and Marketing business processes. Specifically, the Sr. Contract Administrator will perform daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks associated with ensuring proper contract administration and reporting and trading compliance. A successful individual will lead development and implementation of contract management and trading compliance processes and enhancements -- inclusive of leveraging available technology to do so. As the role will require coordination with multiple departments and various levels of personnel, effective communication skills, ability to adapt to different audiences -- including senior management -- and the ability to work well within a team environment are critical. Attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills, objectivity in performing compliance tasks, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently and meet defined deadlines are also required of the Senior Contract Administrator. Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment are required. This role is part of the broader Projects & Controls team, which includes internal controls and project management.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance or audit function.

  • Experience with trading processes, risk management, and / or petroleum accounting preferred.

  • Energy industry background preferred. Refining industry desirable.

  • Appreciation of SOX 404 compliance efforts and trading processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Visio, SharePoint, and RightAngle preferred.

  • Fluent in English, both oral and written required.

  • Ability to adjust work schedule to meet business needs.


  • Serve as subject matter expert and custodian for Commercial and Marketing contract management and documentation

  • Perform activities aligned with expectations and policies related to contract management and document retention

  • Develop and implement process for ensuring all contracts and confirmations are properly included and organized in the approved contract repository, including catching up those that are currently in the backlog

  • Develop and implement process for reconciling contract terms to those entered into the system(s) of record

  • Validate that contracts are in place to support all deals, and, where appropriate, are attached to the deal in the system(s) of record

  • Drive efforts across the organization to update or obtain contracts for those counterparties we do not have current contracts on record with

  • Support Trade Consent tracking through ensuring proper retention and inclusion in contract repository

  • Prepare, assess, and report on monthly consultant expenditures in the CFO organization, including ensuring current and complete contract documentation is in place for all

  • Support development of end-to-end Middle Office process flow documentation

  • Serve as backup for Middle Office Reporting Analyst, primarily performing tasks associated with assessing delegation of authority, counterparty confirmation matching, position monitoring, and deal propriety

  • Drive continuous improvement within Middle Office processes; provide best practices and leadership on performing related controls, focusing on preventive, automated, managed controls; knowledge-share within the organization

  • Support Middle Office compliance with the Risk Management Policy and Derivatives Policy and preparation of quarterly Risk Committee materials, as needed

  • Perform other relevant compliance and risk management projects as requested by the CFO, CAO, VP of Financial Planning and Analytics, or Director of Projects & Controls

  • Regularly communicate and collaborate with Supervisor related to project and process status, concerns and / or questions


  • Contract management activities performed and documented efficiently and completely, ensuring compliance, investigating and resolving exceptions, and escalating issues or concerns

  • New processes or enhancements developed and implemented where appropriate, such that Middle Office is fully effective in supporting, monitoring, and reporting on contract management and compliance

  • Collaborative and effective working relationships across the Commercial and Marketing business process

  • Effectively manages all aspects of Commercial and Marketing contract management environment to minimize risk and adopt best practices

  • Adherence to all Company policies and procedures

  • Timeliness and accuracy on all work products

SUMMARY OF DUTIES The system administrator implements, monitors and supports servers and storage environments for all centralized division and/or facility equipment, and provides operational application support, including image archive and disaster recovery. The system administrator provides server and desktop technology support, including operating system maintenance, application maintenance and ensures division and facility-based systems adhere to HCA Healthcare ITG security, user access and configuration policies. This position works very closely with other corporate, division and facility technical personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of systems physically hosted at the division data center and facility locations. The system administrator also monitors and diagnoses server and storage devices, provides support for incidents which cannot be resolved by the division service desk or technical analysts, and coordinates installation of new equipment for facility projects. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO * Installs and supports server and desktop technologies for centralized division and/or facility equipment (including operating system maintenance, application maintenance, image archive, disaster recovery) * Provides operational applications support * Provides support services to monitor, backup, and diagnose servers and storage equipment; recommends corrective action to failing server and desktop equipment * Provides On-call support (24x7) to assist with troubleshooting, escalation, or recovery of failing equipment * Supports and coordinates installation of server and desktop technology for new projects. Participates, as needed, in division/facility technical implementation projects. * Develops and maintains procedures for equipment installation and configuration support * Creates and maintains documentation for equipment installation and configuration support * Works closely with corporate, division, and facility personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of systems physically hosted at the Division Data Center and facility locations * Coordinates sharing of best practices and policies and procedures * Participates in activities which improve departmental and organizational performance * Interfaces directly with a wide variety of end users and technical counterparts in other division, facility, and corporate roles * Trains Technical Analysts and Senior Technical Analysts * Adheres to and supports HCA Healthcare ITG standards, policies, and procedures * Maintains and protects confidentiality with regard to all aspects of patient care * Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement. * Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Requires a strong knowledge of supported server, application, network, security systems, virus protection, and hardware configurations. * Demonstrated strength in statistical/analytical tools for system monitoring. * Possesses superior analytical and design capabilities. * Understands the business implications of technology decisions. * Demonstrates a customer orientation; establishes and maintains customer relationships. * Must be able to drive to assigned sites to complete work EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in information systems or healthcare-related field is preferred. EXPERIENCE * Requires minimum of two years experience in a technical role directly supporting desktop and/or application servers in an Information Technology environment. * Advanced training and/or certification in network and security standards, equipment and protocols is also desired. * Strong statistical and analytical tools for system monitoring.
