The Senior Contract Analyst performs in-depth legal research and analysis of enacted laws and regulations applicable to hospital plan corporations and the insurance industry.
Primary job duties include:
Researches, develops, writes and/or revises the more complex contract and member benefit forms to assure compliance with enacted legislation and support current and new products
Files new or revised benefit forms with the State Insurance Department(s)
Works closely with the State Insurance Department regulators to secure approval where applicable
Reviews advertising copy and member communications to assure compliance with product related state requirements.
This position may provide initial review of the work produced by the contract analyst(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
An undergraduate degree in English or Communications or other relevant area or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health insurance environment
Demonstrated technical writing skills (health insurance related experience preferred)
Legal research experience strongly preferred
Experience assessing contracts and benefit booklets preferred
Strong communication skills required
Experience working cross-collaboratively with multiple business units within an organization preferred
Independence has implemented a "Hybrid" model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the "Hybrid" model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania
