REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in a related field; at least five years' experience with commercial contract review/drafting/negotiation, contract strategy, compensation structures, commercial contracting terms and conditions, and risk analysis and contractual risk mitigation; and excellent customer service, analytical, negotiation, organizational, and oral and written communication skills. Must be able to provide accurate interpretation and implementation advice to leadership and staff; identify, communicate, and implement complex business solutions for clients; work autonomously and as part of a team; strategically link long-range business goals to daily activities and prioritize projects; and maintain collegial relationships with staff at all levels of the Institute.

PREFERRED: J.D. certification; master's degree in a related field; Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), and/or Certified Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM) certification; and experience in a university or in-house counsel environment. Job #20006-9

Salary Range: $98,000-108,000


SENIOR CONTRACT ADVISOR, Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Contracts, to serve as part of team of contracts attorneys and experts who serve the MIT community by reviewing, analyzing, preparing, negotiating, and administering all types of commercial contracts for the procurement of goods and services. Will act as a key advisor to the MIT community and primary interface with suppliers in complex strategic procurement efforts and resulting contract negotiations.

Contract commodities cover a diverse and dynamic range of industries, including professional service agreements, technology services, software licenses, equipment purchases, travel and hospitality, lab supplies and equipment, research collaborations, non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements, data use agreements, and many others. Contract negotiations can be complex in nature and involve commercial entities/vendors ranging from individual/small businesses to large corporations and Fortune 500 companies.

Qualifications Required: * 3+ years' experience with legal and/or technology solutions * Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, finance, IT or a related area * Experience with one or more of the following: * Implementation experience with Agiloft, SirionOne, Icertis or any other CLM (contract lifecycle management) software * Experience with document extraction tools, data wrangling tools such as Alteryx, and visualization/BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or QlikView and others * Experience with DocuSign CLM or Salesforce configuration * Travel up to 50% (While 50% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.) * Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Preferred: * Advanced Degree in any of the above fields * Experience with DocuSign or Salesforce * Experience with template rationalization and harmonization, guide or playbook creation and the design of the contracting processes * One of the following Accreditations attained, in process, or willing/able to attain: * A relevant legal technology vendor certification * PMP (Project Management Certification) * Six Sigma (Black Belt, Green Belt) * Licensed Attorney * Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office * A relevant industry certification How you'll grow At Deloitte, our professional development plan focuses on helping people at every level of their career to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
