About the Role & Team:

Design at eBay is on a mission to modernize our marketplace, build the future of ecommerce, and celebrate the uniqueness of our inventory and our community.

As a senior content designer for eBay Motors, you'll build a best-in-class buying and selling experience for vehicles, parts, and accessories. You'll be responsible for developing and owning the end-to-end in-product content strategy for mobile and desktop in tandem with our UX design team. And you become comfortable with expressing a POV that considers perspectives from partner teams, anticipating risks, and engaging in healthy debate that leads to resolution.

The full-stack senior content designer, knows writing is designing. You see language as a design material and as an integral part of the UX Design process-and you get others to think the same. You can build a scalable content framework that others can use to build a coherent experience, especially when you're not in the room. You not only understand how to evaluate the quality of content design, but also how to improve it. You enjoy working with cross-discipline partners to define the margins, strategies, and outcomes in ambiguous spaces.

And while being a Motors gear head yourself is a plus, it's not a requirement. As a senior content designer, you'll have tried and true strategies for empathizing with an audience that's different from you and for quickly learning a new subject area.

What You Will Accomplish:

• Develop content strategies and frameworks to drive customer adoption, engagement, and retention.

• Lead the content design process from discovery and ideation to the final fit and finish of full-fidelity designs.

• Use the Double Diamond design process to design, test, and iterate on user flows in close collaboration with product, design, and user research partners.

• Drive a cohesive product narrative and end-to-end consistency in partnership with marketing and customer support teams.

• Collaborate closely with the Localization team to ensure the English source content will scale to other markets in which eBay operates.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in English, journalism, communications, marketing, human-centered interaction, or related field and 5+ years professional experience in content-focused roles with 4+ of those years on in-product UX content

• A portfolio of work demonstrating human-centered design thinking and solutions

• Experience leading or co-leading the design process, from early concept to launch

• Experience developing a product content strategy for web and mobile, including designing for accessibility and inclusivity

• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence without authority

• Excellent, highly creative communication and critical-thinking skills

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$106,800 - $162,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
