How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

This position leads and participates in the growth of new enrollment for the consumer segment. This position develops and maintains relationships via the telephone, community meetings, and other field-based activities in order to promote and maximize the sales of all Blue Cross and ancillary line consumer markets segment products. This position will be serving the following counties: Todd, Morrison, Mille Lacs, Stearns, Benton, Kandiyohi, Meeker.

A Day in the Life:

  • Meets sales and sales development goals as assigned by management.

  • Develop sales strategies to procure sufficient number of referrals and other self-generated leads to meet sales targets.

  • Delivers presentations to groups/individuals to support, educate or enroll into appropriate BCBSMN plans.

  • As available, responsible for answering and following up on incoming sales calls and emails from prospective customers generated by marketing campaigns.

  • Identify, develop, and maintain contacts/partnerships for community events and targeted community outreach to contribute to the attainment of sales goals.

  • Maximizes the sale of company products through determining suitability, eligibility and need.

  • Explains benefits for appropriate coverage, responds to questions, supplies relevant marketing material, and assists with the application process.

  • Works collaboratively with internal business partners and leadership to ensure BCBSMN initiatives align with sales goals.

  • Uses lead tracking software to manage prospective enrollee database.

  • Initiates sales calls to individuals who have responded to advertising and direct mail campaigns.

  • Analyzes benefit trends, the effectiveness of marketing materials and advertising campaigns and makes recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the department.

  • Participates in developing annual sales plan in order to positively impact sales strategy.

  • Responsible for strategically developing and implementing our go to market strategy within our community outreach program.

  • Follows all Federal, State, and CMS regulations and laws and BCBSMN compliance guidance.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • 7+ years related experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.

  • Must live in one of the counties this position serves noted above.

  • 1 year of conducting member facing sales meetings

  • Experienced in self-generating leads.

  • Thorough understanding of the health care industry

  • Relationship building skills.

  • Proven successful sales record.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and follow through on sales process steps.

  • Proven success and experience delivering customer / producer communications.

  • Persuasive oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Ability to mentor sales personnel on sales & relationship management skills.

  • Possess or ability to acquire MN Resident Producer License in the lines of Life & Health/ Accident within 60 days of starting.

  • Reliable transportation for attending all in-person meetings and presentations, and valid driver's license and auto insurance if driving self.

  • Travel as needed, overnight on occasion.

Teleworker

Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote. Hybrid is a combination of working onsite and remotely. Onsite is full-time onsite.
