The Product Manager defines, tracks, and maintains roadmaps and requirements with a solid understanding of users, competitive landscape, future trends, and the technical aspects and features of the product, working alongside the multidisciplinary Agile team to jointly commit on delivering a robust, reliable, and marketable product.

This includes providing content in the formulation of strategic business plans, driving product management processes to optimize product definition, maximize the value of products to Virtustream's business and product, service & solution impact in the marketplace. The Product Manager creates "first, best content" which describes and communicates product vision and product direction for customers, analysts, and internal Virtustream audiences. Formulates tactics to support the growth associated with our products. Understands the competitive ecosystem inclusive of products, services and cloud providers.

  • Works very close with the development team as part of the agile development cycles and represents the voice of the customer.

  • Manage the product backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement) and work day-to-day with the product teams to clarify requirements and accept final user stories.

  • Communicate, influence, and work with Senior Executives to ensure alignment with the roadmap, strategy, and specific product plans and implementation.

  • Identify and develop the product strategy and detailed product requirements by analyzing the market segments, target customers, and requirements, and then translating these into a comprehensive, compelling, and executable roadmap for the team.

  • Evaluates and drives service, product and solution management processes (e.g. long term product strategic business and product requirement plans). Ensures the right blend of trade-offs to maximize the service and product impact in the respective marketplace (competition, timing, costs, and internal capabilities).

  • Makes decisions, shapes and/or champions new direction for the product line. Supports the Business Line of strategic planning. Prepares and presents the strategic business plan supporting a particular product and/or product line to any audience, including executives and customers.

  • Utilizes the customer experience team to bring customers and prospects close to the product and enable direct feedback through pilot customers, beta programs and customer roundtables

  • Analyzes, identifies and qualifies opportunities for new product, service & solution features and functions in support of competitive product positioning.

  • Leverages product/market knowledge to assist cross-functional groups including Product Marketing and field personnel with training content. Development of first best content.

  • Supports senior staff with research, development, and presentation of new product concepts to gain timely management approval and handling of issues for product feature/function set.

  • Supports the development and implementation of the company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute. Tracks and analyzes product expense and cost. Provides customer interaction and support (e.g. executive briefing center, problem escalation). Analyzes product cost against revenue forecast and actuals.

  • Meets with customers to support product related discussions and gather feedback.

SKILLS

  • Strong technical aptitude and excellent problem solving skills

  • Experience Required: 7+ years relevant Product Manager experience with a minimum of3-5 years Storage and Network experience with products such as EMC VMAX, DMX, VNX and the like

  • Ability to influence others to achieve results

  • VMware certifications VCP or VCDX

  • Knowledge and experience working with SAP Applications and SAP Technology Suite

  • Proven experience in customer development, product definition, feature scoping, and balancing tradeoffs for industry-leading business software products

  • Understanding of hybrid cloud and common enterprise applications required

  • Datacenter/IT Infrastructure experience is required

  • Experience in cloud computing with Federation, Public/Private/Multi Cloud is a plus

  • Experience with creating/managing/delivering IaaS/SAAS/Cloud products is a strong plus

  • Experience with NFV, SDN, TOSCA and OpenStack is a strong plus

  • Negotiation skills and a strong sense of Innovation

  • Strong communications skills

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree is Required

Role Overview This is a high-visibility, and high-impact individual contributor position on the Secureworks Product Management team. In this position, you'll own Secureworks' Endpoint Security solutions. This requires an understanding of the needs of our clients, the needs of our business, and the competitive landscape. In this role, you will work collaboratively to drive strategy and planning for the growing market of Endpoint Detection. Your focus will be to work in collaboration with a cross functional team to develop a compelling vision for your components and to execute, measure, and adjust the strategy accordingly. This role requires experience in product management, information security, user interface design and data analytics. You will use customer input, market research, product management discipline, and experience to define plans and requirements for components that will be highly competitive in the market and can be delivered efficiently through our global Security Operations Centers. Role Responsibilities * Lead and execute a strategy for a managed endpoint services portfolio with multiple supporting technologies, focusing on defining internal development requirements and prioritization * Work closely with development and UX team to prioritize enhancement requests for each development cycle * Identify new Concepts and bring them through Offer Lifecycle Process, including a quantitative business case to support investment and formalize goals * Leverage a deep understanding of our users, vulnerabilities, threats and protection technologies, and our user experience, UI and back office infrastructure to drive integration of expert knowledge into our platforms * Conduct competitive analysis so that, through you, the company remains informed about the competitive landscape (use this information to inform your product plans and establish meaningful market differentiators) * Create organizational alignment around and communicate endpoint goals, initiatives, and priorities, particularly as the SecureWorks portfolio evolves and changes * Partner with the Marketing and Sales teams to communicate these capabilities to our customer and prospect base--positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, and content creation. * Become the champion for continuous improvement in the customer experience (e.g., buying, on-boarding, steady-state delivery) for your portfolio. * Create and communicate coherent short and long term visions and roadmaps for your components. * Manage relationships and maintain an environment of transparency, accountability, and success with internal and external stakeholders and partners * Own data-driven approach to tracking and reporting portfolio performance * Ensure that enhancements are developed and operationalized to your satisfaction.
