Diales USA provide project commercial consultancy and expert witness services related to the forensic analysis of construction and engineering claims for delays, additional costs and quantum, disputed additional work and other relevant issues.

Our services are provided to regional and international engineering and construction companies, owners, financers, insurers, government agencies, contractors and clients.

Diales USA experts provide objective analysis and evidence in a clear, concise manner in a number of dispute forums including Litigation, Arbitration, Dispute Boards and Mediation.

The role:

Diales USA are seeking to appoint and experienced, ambitious, and driven Delay Analysis professionals to join our expanding team in New York City, USA and become part of our growing success.

The key duties will involve (but not be limited to):

  • Preparation of detailed analysis of documents relating to delay, productivity, costing, claims, and any other relevant information required to analyse information related to construction and engineering disputes.

  • Preparation of claims and/or rebuttal documents to be use litigation/arbitration and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

  • Support delivery of commission services in line with client briefs.

  • Provide in depth delay and quantum analysis in support of the Delay and Quantum expert.

  • Actively contribute to business development and delivery of a full range of the company's services across a wide client base.

  • Assist with the preparation of expert reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings.

The suitable candidates should meet the following criteria:

Essential:

  • 15 years' experience working for a national contractor - either building or civil engineering or both and/or working with a leading claims consultancy firm.

  • Experience in preparing and defending claims.

  • Experience in dispute resolution both formal and informal.

  • Experience in assisting delay and quantum experts.

  • Experience of business development, marketing, networking etc.

  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.

  • Must hold a relevant construction or engineering degree (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management) and preferably hold some form of legal qualification, for example, MSc in Construction Law or Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration.

  • Presentable and articulated.

  • Experience presenting evidence and findings.

Desirable:

  • Professionally qualified such as Professional Engineer, Member of the RICS or CPA.

  • Ability to manage client relationships.

  • Experience in preparation of expert evidence related to delay and or damages.

  • Ability to generate and develop work and client base.
