Problem and Scope Definition:

  • Provide primary support for formulation of problem statement and definition of scope for her/his assigned area(s).

  • Work independently and bring thought leadership to bear in order to identify root cause of the issue.

  • Work with engagement management to define scope of work in context of larger project.

  • Construct problem statement to include problem description, those affected and benefits of solving the problem, and implications of not doing so.

  • Support the identification of project risks and mitigation.

Requirements Gathering:


  • Demonstrate exceptional requirement gathering techniques with minimal direction from engagement management.

  • Design, conduct and facilitate requirements sessions.

  • Organize and sequence requirements into a user requirements document.

  • Write wellformed, validated requirements and manage changes.

  • Use appropriate tools to record, track and manage requirements.

Business Analysis:


  • Review and analyze relevant documentation to ensure the understanding of an organizations function and capabilities.

  • Lead relevant research to increase understanding in support of developing comprehensive solutions.

  • Serve as liaison between stakeholdersdemonstrate understanding of clients structure, policies, and operations.

  • Logically structure recommendations and supporting data to formulate a solid, logical and understandable business case.

  • Utilize appropriate business modeling techniques to represent and graphically depict various activities, processes and data These could include:.

Engagement Delivery:


  • Deliver exceptional engagement delivery support.

  • Develop and managing project plan(s) as needed.

  • Identify and manage engagement risks for area of responsibility.

  • Independent of close supervision, develop high quality deliverables that are clientready the first time.

  • Proactively share ongoing point of view and perspectives based on experience/expertise.

  • Display strong listening and communication skills when interacting with client and team.

Engagement Governance:


  • Develop governance and communication plans that facilitate smooth delivery of project.

  • Provide engagement lead with consistent and frequent updates through written and verbal communications.

  • Effectively track and/or escalate project risks and issues.

Thought Leadership:


  • Independently research industry trends and support to shape innovative ideas and opinions for practice thought leaders.

  • Actively contribute to research, development and authoring of consulting mindshare ie articles, whitepapers, and other collaterals via traditional and social media channels.

Business Development:


  • Support RFI/RFP responses and other business development opportunities as needed.

Customer Relationship Management:


  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholder(s).

  • Be seen as a go to resource that client wants to bring back for future engagements.

Practice Development:


  • Draw conclusions from market/industry trends and client experiences to support in the design and build of new go to market service offerings.

  • Support service line development and case study support through the gathering of industry best practices.

Revenue Management:


  • Ensure personal utilization targets are achieved by working standard hours and actively seeking new opportunities well before current engagement ends (if possible).

Knowledge Management:


  • Assist in creating client and/ or practice related materials (deliverables, solutions, industry best practices, standards and other knowledge artifacts) to Cognizant's knowledge management repository.

People Management:


  • Actively support recruitment for campus candidates through preplacement discussions.

  • Help to onboard and mentor junior associates.

Specifically, you will be working in the RWI Enriched Studies Development Team. The RWI Enriched Studies Development Team is responsible for advancing the IQVIA capabilities to deliver Enriched Studies through targeted internal investment activities, client business development and oversight for study delivery. Enriched Studies integrate two methods of data collection (primary and secondary) to build a comprehensive patient record and increase both the availability and depth of researchable data. Enriched Studies are innovative in their use of secondary data (e.g. electronic medical records, health claims) and provide a number of benefits to our clients. Enriched Studies are typically deployed as a method for delivering observational studies, although are also being explored for delivering clinical trials as well. The content area of the team encompasses a broad range of activities related to Enriched Studies: * Geographic data source and technical assessments to support capability expansion. * Enhancing data management and analysis capabilities of both primary collected information and existing databases. * Proactive business development, including development of proposals. * Supporting multi-country study delivery. * Development of standard processes. * Thought leadership. * Budget tracking. Role As a Senior Consultant, you would be able to showcase your abilities to apply healthcare knowledge and new approaches to solving healthcare's most challenging issues. You must thrive in a collaborative environment where you can leverage the most globally extensive assets of IQVIA to accelerate new business growth as well as in-depth expertise in areas such as observational research, epidemiology and data management. You must provide high quality, on-time input to both client projects and offering development projects (non-client projects). Assignments range in complexity from basic analysis and problem solving to assisting in the development of more complex solutions working across geographies and business units. This will span across tasks that are technical, process-driven and scientific, working with teams across various countries. You will join a high profile, talented and fast paced team where you will be managing teams of Analysts and Consultants in the design, development and delivery of medium sized projects or components of larger, complex projects of Enriched Studies. You will own and deliver work independently, ensuring that high quality, thoroughly scoped outputs are delivered on time and within budget. Our Senior Consultants are self-sufficient, supported by a group of Associate Principals, Principals, technical experts in epidemiology, observational studies and offering development, who provide industry-leading perspectives and innovative approaches. The successful candidate will be able to achieve professional development and learning, which includes skills specific training courses as well as on-the-job training. You will also learn from working closely with senior leaders in the organization, as well as other team members leading the team's business development and delivery efforts. Principal Accountabilities As a Senior Consultant, you will be working on client projects and development projects within multidisciplinary and international teams specifically created for each project. Your responsibilities will include: Client engagement responsibilities: * Manage day-to-day client relationships through face-to-face discussions, workshops, conferences, telephone, email and written reports. * Provide day-to-day leadership to project teams (Analysts and Consultants) to execute high quality research and analysis on time and within budget. * Set meeting agendas and lead client calls. * Prepare and facilitate decision making on project related questions, internally as well as with clients. * Design, structure and deliver client reports and presentations. * Coordinate the development of detailed technical documents (e.g. RWE Study Protocols and Statistical Analysis Plans), working closely with scientific experts. * Proactively identify project related delivery risks, suggesting and implementing mitigating actions. * Assist in the design/structure and completion of presentations that are appropriate to support client engagement, training and conference presentations. * Participate in proposal development and the bid-defence process with guidance and supervision. * Use strategic framework to identify new business opportunities for follow-on work. * Recommend improvements and alternative solutions to resolve client challenges. * Align with the finance team to track and update project costs and revenue. Development project responsibilities: * Develop broad knowledge of healthcare technologies, Big Data and research methodologies necessary to execute development projects. * Interact with external parties to understand and assess emerging technologies, the competitive landscape, and research methodologies. * Raise the external profile of IQVIA's RWI by attending conferences, organising webinars, and attending recruitment events. * Work closely with the senior business and scientific leaders to create innovative solutions for Enriched Studies. * Management of workstream tasks and overall delivery including strategic framing for development decision making. * Support planning and management of resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. * Ability to form cross-organisational engagements with senior leaders across business units to ensure alignment and coordinated Enriched Studies development. * Engage with external parties to understand and assess novel technologies, the competitive landscape, and research methodologies. * Work with senior members of the team to support discrete initiatives around IQVIA's broad RWE strategy. * Coach project team members and supporting them to fulfil their personal objectives. * Seek out and build a network of colleagues within the IQVIA organisation to share and obtain relevant information required to progress Enriched Studies workstreams. Skills and Experience Candidates interested in joining as a Senior Consultant will have: * Experience in healthcare with focus on observational research, strategic product development and/or real-world data. * Understanding of and interest in the international healthcare environment. * Experience in managing projects and juggling priorities to meet deadlines while retaining consistently high quality outcomes. * Experience in coaching project team members. * Experience of working in sizable/multi-disciplined teams. * Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, business and report writing. * Ability to support strategic decision making. * Flexibility in assignment to multiple work-stream projects and client studies. * Competency in using Word and PowerPoint and developing clear storylines. * Proven ability to advance ambiguous or conceptual ideas into tangible and practical plans. In addition, it will be advantageous if candidates have the following skills: * Experience of developing credible relationships with senior level managers and executives. * Knowledge and/or prior experience of either observational research (including scientific/epidemiological and operational aspects) or consulting methodologies, tools and techniques is desirable, but not critical. * Experience in product development, from initial concept development, market sizing through to product delivery plans. * Offerings development experience – familiarity with accepted innovations models e.g. open innovation, ideation, product platforming, immersion or similar would be beneficial. Qualifications In addition to the skills and experience above, candidates interested in joining as a Senior Consultant will have: * Undergraduate degree with a strong academic track record in life sciences, economics/business/mathematics/statistics/computer science, and/or experience in the health care industry. * A postgraduate qualification in life sciences discipline is desirable although not essential. * Working experience of 3-5 years in related industry/field with preference for work in real-world research. * Working experience of managing small to mid-sized projects as well as junior team members.
