They will lead the external Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting process and monthly consolidation. In addition, responsible for evaluating reporting requirements and preparing implementation plans to respond to new requirements. They will report to the Director of Enterprise Financial Reporting.
Job Description:

  • Frequent interaction with VP Financial Reporting and Corporate Controller
  • Directly supervises Consolidations financial reporting team in the preparation of SEC filings, including Annual Form 10-K, Quarterly Form 10-Q, including XBRL and electronic filing.
  • Lead disciplined five-day close to produce and distribute enterprise-wide financial statements; collaborate with and provide direction to segment financial reporting team; responsible for company-wide variance analysis
  • Coordinates with multiple business and function executives including legal counsel, financial planning, investor relations, external audit, SOX and technical accounting teams
  • Collaborates with multiple executives and to create high quality supporting materials for Audit Committee meetings
  • Leads quarterly Disclosure Committee meetings with Senior executives across functions
  • Reviews new accounting guidance, partners with accounting policy, financial reporting teams and external auditors to evaluate, develop proposals and implement changes to financial statements and disclosures in response to new accounting standards and SEC requirements
  • Performs key role in various SEC filings, including Conflict Minerals reporting and debt offerings
  • Play key accounting role in implementation of IT projects
  • Provides leadership to the financial reporting team by coaching and developing team members as well as enabling career development opportunities
  • Lead special projects as assigned, and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years researching and applying US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to solve complex accounting issues
  • 3+ years with SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) rules and related accounting standards
Preferred qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with recent Big 4 public accounting experience
  • 3+ years working in a public accounting firm
  • 3+ years managing or leading people or teams

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Manager of External Reporting will be a key leader in the global controllership organization and manage a group of four and have previous experience owning an SEC reporting role. This individual will be primarily responsible for the company's external reporting function. This will include all SEC filings such as Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, the Annual Report on Form 10-K, and miscellaneous filings as required. Oversight of several complex technical accounting areas as well as management of corporate holding company entities, including managing the statutory accounting process under local GAAP and IFRS is also required. This role has significant interaction with other teams within Global Controllership, regional/local controllership, Forecasting Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Tax and Treasury. A successful candidate will be a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of the application of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting and have proficiency in documenting accounting positions in memoranda. A control and process oriented mindset, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and desire and ability to identify, recommend and lead improvements is also important. This individual will also be a visible leader in the global controllership organization, so management experience is required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Direct preparation and coordination of SEC 10-Q/K filings, including all financial statements, footnote disclosures and Management's Discussion & Analysis * Monitor, understand and identify potential impact of new accounting and SEC standards on financial statements and disclosures. * Direct XBRL taxonomy selections and XBRL filings * Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with internal controls related to reporting processes and SEC filings * Direct completion of disclosure compliance checklists and the ability to articulate the disclosure positions taken at Disclosure Committee meetings * Manage the statutory reporting process and IFRS conversion of the company's consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements * Drive the audited financial statement and footnote preparation process under U.S. GAAP for bank reporting * Supervise, coach, mentor and review work of financial reporting accounting staff of four individuals * Key global resource for technical accounting emerging issues and research * Assist in the adoption of new accounting standards * Manage external and internal auditors' inquiries and requests to global team, coordinate with other employees on requests from auditors * Participate in special projects/oversight of technical accounting areas as assigned (i.e. revenue recognition, goodwill impairment analysis, acquisitions, share-based compensation, derivatives, pension, debt and equity transactions) * Liaise with investor relations/FP&A benchmarking key metrics in industry and geography, and understanding competitors' insights * Support key customers, including Treasury, Legal, Tax, Investor Relations and FP&A as needed.
