PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Senior Compliance Investigations Consultant will be responsible for effectively carrying out investigations of internal and external reports of compliance-related allegations.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business administration, accounting, finance or related field.

Experience:

  • Must have five years of relevant professional experience as a healthcare compliance professional or performing internal compliance related investigations.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

  • Must have Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or obtain within 24 months of placement in job.

Skills or Special Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to evaluate healthcare compliance issues and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Must be adept at developing and executing all phases of a plan of investigation, including but not limited to review and analysis of data, information and records, conducting reviews, and drafting findings and conclusions.

  • Must be able to write clear, detailed reports summarizing the nature of concerns, investigation findings, application of analysis and recommendations.

  • Must have strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with persons of varied backgrounds, education levels and cognitive abilities. Must be able to communicate thoughts, ideas, information and messages with clear language, style, organization and format appropriate to the subject matter, purpose and audience. Must be an active listener.

  • Must have excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to identify a problem, determine the root cause, communicate findings and participate in the development of the solution.

  • Must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of computers, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

  • Must be detailed oriented.

  • Must have sound professional judgment.

  • Must be capable of managing difficult conversations with sensitivity.

  • Must have the ability to respond to sensitive information objectively, discreetly, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Must have strong critical thinking skills.

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and practice ethical standards.
