What You Will Accomplish:

  • Develop, implement, and manage base, variable, and equity compensation programs.

  • Plan and administer the semi-annual bonus program and pay planning cycles.

  • Provide technical expertise and proactive guidance to monitor and maintain our competitive positioning, balancing internal equity and external competitiveness.

  • Collaborate and advise HRBPs on compensation program rollouts.

  • Partner closely with the recruiting organization to ensure sound, compelling, and attractive offers are extended to secure the necessary talent to scale us to our projected growth in this challenging market.

  • Monitor and implement changes to ensure compliance with global pay regulations.

  • Work with HR systems team to implement and test systems changes.

  • Lead the market analysis process and recommend changes to the salary structure.

  • Lead compelling manager compensation trainings.

  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop dashboards and analytic models to provide business insights and interpret market or internal trends.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree, with 6-8 years of compensation experience, preferably in a hyper-growth tech company.

  • Expert knowledge of compensation salary planning, incentive programs, equity plans, market pricing and analytics.

  • Must be able to design and execute strategies in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

  • A working knowledge and awareness of labor laws related to pay.

  • Solid consulting and project management skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills, with particular focus on modeling and the use of advanced features of spreadsheets. Strong PowerPoint skills a plus.

  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently as well as a member of a team.

  • Must be able to exercise judgement and independently determine and take appropriate action with defined HR policies and procedures.

  • Works under general direction from immediate manager.

Based in Verizon Media's Sunnyvale headquarters, the Sr Compensation Manager is a key member of the compensation team in reviewing, designing and implementing compensation programs and policies. This role works closely across the HR organization, functional business leaders, Finance and IT and leads a team of three. Responsibilities: * Analyze and structure competitive pay practices for the company's global salary structures, incentive targets, and equity guidelines, keeping in mind business conditions, legal requirements, and industry best practices. * Conduct cost modeling and employee impact analysis for proposed new programs or program changes. * Assist with design and administration of compensation programs (year-end and mid-year cycles, retention programs, equity program, etc) * Assist with content development and training of compensation programs and practices to HR partners and managers * Completes complex modeling and manipulate large data sets; with the ability to craft accurate and meaningful leadership summaries * Provide compensation support for cross-functional HR projects, such as M&A activity and HR systems implementations. Qualifications * 8+ years of progressive compensation and human resources experience. * Must have a good understanding of broad-based compensation programs (base/bonus/equity), pay for performance, benchmarking/market data, and job evaluation. * Analytical mindset and ability to manage large, complex data sets * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to analyze data to drive actionable and sound decision-making. * Prior people manager experience a plus. * Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands and ambiguity; Strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion * Knowledge and experience with state and federal labor laws as it relates to compensation (FLSA, pay equity requirements, etc) * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills * The ability to assess needs and manage projects - demonstrating strong project management skills Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Finance, Business or Economics. * Previous experience in tech or media companies * Experience and high proficiency with the Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) * LI-BMG Verizon Media is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
