Leads the market pricing and market measurement efforts that serve as the foundation for Kaiser Permanente's total compensation program. Maintains, updates and administers the base salary and total compensation programs.
Develops and documents methods for gathering and evaluating external market salary data to ensure the competitiveness of Kaiser Permanente's base salary and total compensation structures. Gathers competitive salary data to develop and update base salary anchors, base salary ranges, and total compensation ranges.
Develops communications that educate compensation decision makers on the utilization of competitive salary information. Develops and updates market/job measurement criteria that assists compensation decision makers with the slotting of non-benchmark positions. Consults with compensation decision makers to ensure that the appropriate market data is being utilized as the basis for the development of Kaiser Permanente's salary structures.
Oversees the annual salary determination process. Consults with compensation decision makers on the development of special salary surveys for unique positions. Educates, mentors and trains all Human Resources staff on compensation practices and programs. Assists the Compensation Consultants with special salary determination situations.
Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis. At any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions, or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status. Such changes are generally implemented only after notice is given to affected employees.
Bachelor's degree in business administration or mathematics OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
