The Sr Compensation Analyst will be responsible for compensation and data analysis as well as the design and ongoing evaluation of the sales and business partner compensation programs. The ideal candidate will be an individual who is results oriented, innovative, builds strong relationships and is eager to drive the compensation function forward. In addition, they will function as a mentor on the team, and display a willingness to coach and develop other team members. They will demonstrate a ability to think outside the box, recommend innovative solutions to complex problems and make decisions that are in the best interest of our people.

We're looking for people who:

  • Work as a consultant to our sales and business partner divisions to understand how their business works and how sales compensation plans can help drive the business forward

  • Build exceptional relationships with leaders and be seen as a trusted advisor

  • Oversee the participation in market data surveys, and ensure roles remain competitively priced within the market

  • Own the SuccessFactors compensation module

  • Support the design and execution of sales compensation plans

  • Help create structure and alignment across divisions in compensation design and philosophy, while understanding the nuances of each division and their level of readiness

  • Regularly work with leaders to ensure they understand how their compensation plans are performing and align to other divisions

  • Actively work to ensure compensation practices are communicated, understood and supported

  • Collaborate with leaders to understand compensation concerns and propose creative solutions

  • Regularly analyze the effectiveness of sales compensation plan design

  • Support the data management of targets, goals and plans

  • Embrace the idea of continuous improvement and make recommendations for how we can streamline processes, and further progress our compensation programs

  • Be seen as the subject matter expert and mentor on a team. Actively work to help grow and develop others on the team, and show a willingness to work in a team oriented way

  • Support efforts behind data accuracy, integrity and attention to detail

  • Facilitate trainings regarding compensation philosophies and practices across divisions

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Your role.

  • Advanced analytical skills and knowledge of Excel

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to clearly understand financial metrics and how they drive the business and sales compensation process

  • Ability to provide large scale analysis, and structure data in an effective and digestible manner

  • Strong understanding of HR data and ability to understand how data connects to different systems

  • Ability to be flexible, work well with ambiguity and provide out of the box solutions to divisions

  • Comfortable working individually and in a team environment, with an ability to bring positivity and enthusiasm to the team

  • Detail oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently and have a strong sense or prioritization

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work and communicate with various levels of management

  • Experience with salary planning, incentive/bonus program design and market pricing

  • Strong understanding of various compensation practices and pay compliance

Education & Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant field experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience with compensation analysis

  • Minimum 2 years experience with sales compensation program design and management

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in designing, building and managing complex compensation programs

  • Expert level Excel skills including the ability to write complex formulas, manipulate large amounts of data and preferably familiarity with building macros

  • Most possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Must be self-directed, creative, organized, detail-oriented and results driven

  • Ability to keep confidentiality when handling sensitive information

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work well both independently and part of a team


  • Prior leadership experience (formal and informal) preferred

  • SuccessFactors Compensation (or other related HCM compensation module) experience preferred

This position will partner with recruiters and HRBPs, as well as supporting compensation programs (annual increase, annual incentive, promotions, Stock Programs, Etc.). Position will be responsible to continuously studying labor markets to determine compensation trends; analyzes jobs and reviews job descriptions and specifications. Administers and communicates the company's benefits program plan options, features and enrollment requirements; assists employees with benefit claim administration inquiries. Analyzes cost containment strategies. Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws governing both compensation and benefits practices. Job Responsibilities * Work with vendors on a day to day basis to ensure quality of services meet expectations as outlined in each of the vendor contracts and performance goals. * Provide support to all benefit plan change implementation processes. * Ensure company compliance with all applicable federal laws and state regulations related to employer sponsored benefit plans. * Assist in ensuring all plan documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, SAR's, etc. are accurate and current. In addition, will provide support in the 5500 filings and 11-K filings for benefit plans. * Provide assistance and support to the HRBPs when required to determine interpretation of plan design or benefit level coverage. * Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in compensation and statistical analysis and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans * Manages the day-to-day execution of compensation market analysis to assess current total remuneration levels * Maintains accurate and up to date job description repository on HR intranet site * Conducts individual job description analyses and provides development support * Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines and recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems * Recommends company salary structure movements, salary increase budgets, and FLSA exemptions. * Prepares special studies and makes recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation or stock options. * Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions * Provides compensation information and assistance to company stakeholders * During Annual Compensation Reviews provides process preparation including gathering of initial data; pre-analysis; prepping/updating spreadsheet, etc. * Develops and/or participates in compensation/benefit surveys to analyze company's competitive position. * Supports and maintains accurate compensation database * Supports and assists in the continuous integration between compensation database and HRIS database to ensure cross functionality and timely sharing of data between systems * Works closely with HRIS, HR, Payroll and other stakeholders on a daily basis * Responsible for accuracy of all HR compensation related data * Generates weekly, monthly, semi-annual, misc. reports and data files as required. * Ability to preserve confidentiality of information * Remains current on all personnel policies, programs and practices and stays informed of new (and pending) laws and regulations * Provides counsel and support on all matters related to compensation * Good understanding of databases, HRIS systems, and queries * Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management. * Follow legal policies as directed. Job Requirements * 2+ years' experience in compensation, finance, human resources, benefits, or related field * 2+ years' experience creating, querying, and managing databases * 2+ years' experience in data analysis and market research * Working knowledge of Workday and have proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel spreadsheet skills. * Ability to communicate in both written and oral formats to all organizational levels to perform the functions listed above, using standard benefits terms. * Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral formats to insurance and investment brokers and vendors in the administration of benefit programs. * Must be results oriented and able to manage multiple processes and activities. * Must have the ability to solve problems and effectively manage complex and sensitive issues.
