Job Information


  • Develops and manages effective corporate communication plans and materials.

  • Effectively manages internal communications with a focus on engagement.

  • Researches and writes promotional, product and industry-specific collateral, web content, blog/social media content, etc.

  • Works with contracted resources to direct design, creation and production of collateral for use by the field, brokers, policyholders and plan participants.

  • Ensures consistency of branding guidelines across all communication media, messaging and activities.

  • Assumes responsibility for adherence to the Company's content management strategy by consistent review, assessment, revision and continuous improvement of internal and external facing content.

  • Coordinates the flow of content/communications vehicles to ensure they follow the prescribed review process for accuracy and compliance. Performs quality assurance of all communications through proofreading, etc.

  • Maintains marketing literature organization (document management) online and through internal and contracted warehousing/logistics partner.

  • Produces and distributes internal reports as needed.


  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree required.

  • 5 years of related marketing communications experience required.

  • Copy/content development experience required.

  • Proven project management skills required.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required.

  • Must possess attention to detail, organizational skill and be able to meet deadlines.

  • Insurance/employee benefits/financial services industry experience desired.

  • Proven experience posting and managing social media marketing campaigns.

  • Superior knowledge of web content management platforms required (Sitecore desirable).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe suite of products.

VIEW JOBS 1/21/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-20T00:00 Job Summary The Internal Communications Specialist serves as a member of the Penn Medicine Communications Department, reporting to the Senior Director for Internal Communications. This role partners with clients to develop appropriate, targeted, communication collateral to meet the objectives of assigned projects and organizational priorities. The Specialist will execute communication strategies and assist in developing collateral in support of change initiatives aligned with Penn Medicine strategic goals. The role will focus in large part on change communications activities related to the Pavilion, Penn Medicine's newest, most advanced inpatient facility, which will open in 2021 on the campus of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Accountabilities • Manage assigned tasks and small projects, collaborating effectively with clients to devise strategy and execute print, web, and multimedia communications collateral. • Collaborate with team members to ensure project strategy and tactics are achieved on time and on budget; tracking projects in traffic management programs from initial concept through to completion. • Develop clear, concise communications – both written and multimedia – designed to provide need-to-know information to Penn Medicine's workforce around important institutional changes, values, and initiatives. • Support Penn Medicine Academy to develop communication materials and support of enterprise wide organization development and change management initiatives. • Assist with event production, meeting management, and special activities such as employee engagement and recognition events. • Collect and analyze defined metrics to evaluate success of new communications deliverables. • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization University Of Pennsylvania Health System Philadelphia PA
