Role Summary:

GE Power's Digital Technology organization is leading the way for GE Power's business and systems transformation. This team is responsible for the largest GE ERP deployment, shared services and the Future of Work / Automation Foundry.

Essential Responsibilities:

GE Power has launched a multi-year ERP program to get 3 of the largest business units Power Services, Gas Power Systems and Steam Power Systems onto a single SAP ERP platform. The resulting ERP platform will be the largest in GE and will host approx. 40% of overall GE revenue with over 50,000 users. SAP is deployed in various locations with an aggressive plan to scale globally.

The GE Power Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing and leading the employee communication strategy for GE Power business transformation and ERP implementation. This role needs to drive stakeholder connections, engagement and advocacy. Additionally, this role provides strategic communications guidance for the CIO and Digital Technology leadership team.

As the Senior Communications Manager, you will:

  • Develop, implement and sustain a comprehensive communications plan to aid in the broad of understanding, commitment, and active support of GE Power's Digital Technology business priorities among key audiences

  • Help to shape the thinking for GE Power senior leaders through data, trends and deep understanding of the changing digital technology landscape, in collaboration with the team

  • Ensure communications, training and change plans are aligned by working closely with GE Power's COE, P&L and functional communications leads

  • Support executive and stakeholder communications plan and day-to-day engagement with Technology leadership

  • Partner with the broader GE Power Communications teams and provide creative support in development of content and assets to aid in storytelling, including video, blogs, feature articles, infographics, podcasts and more

  • Support ongoing operations and strategy for contemporary core employee communication channels to help drive employee purpose, engagement and organizational change management across GE Power

  • Manage key program activities, such as town halls, all hands broadcasts and local site deployment events

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience driving strategic communications plans

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in IT communications (including ERP / large scale IT transformation or system implementation) working on global rollout activities

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to tell the ERP / business transformation story in the most complete, integrated and compelling manner

  • Demonstrate strategic capability of core storytelling digital communications experience skills, including outstanding writing ability

  • Proven ability to inspire follower-ship across all levels of the organization with track record of influencing senior leaders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet aggressive deadlines with high standards for quality Experience designing and developing info graphics, posters, banners and other communications collateral

  • Self-starter capable of managing several programs / projects simultaneously

  • Proven experience navigating matrixed organizations and global teams

  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, influential communications

  • Advanced investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multitask and perform well under tight deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
