Position Overview
QinetiQ has an immediate opening for a Communications Engineer to support a government client's prototype and experimentation cell. The candidate will provide technical expertise in communications area of expertise to government program managers and provide general SETA level support. The candidate will provide technical input and advice to the Program Manager and serve in a Systems Engineering role to support designs review, test procedures, and provide feedback and recommendations to the client Program Manager on Command and Control design and architecture needs.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide technical advice/input to the client Program Manager that lays the strategic foundation for critical, national capability and customer's future initiatives
Understand and contribute to system designs and technical approaches to guide next generation weapon systems
Coordinate the development and integration of software and hardware solutions into the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS)
Develop enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements for command and control solutions for Army and Navy Weapon systems
Be familiar with Command and Control Battle Management Operations
Coordinate and develop program plans, milestone, and integrated master schedules
Coordinate with modeling and simulation teams to assess impacts to the architecture
Review engineering documents and provide SME support, Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR type activities
Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program
Incorporate Joint Warfighter, Mission Partners and internal team's feedback and input on product strategy and identify the best path to improve efficiencies
Support application product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry)
Develop key products such as briefing materials, white papers and review source selection sensitive data and make recommendations to Program Managers
CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required up to 25% of the time. Travel includes, but not limited to,Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe (Germany, Poland & UK)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or math
Minimum of 10 years experience in Command & Control Engineering
Active TS/SCI #qinetiqclearedjob
Strong Experience in requirements development and tracking
Experience in systems engineering
Experience in project management
Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in science, technology, engineering or math
15 years of system engineering experience
Familiar with Navy and Army Weapons systems
Experience with Command and Control networks in EUCOM, INDOPACOM and NORTHCOM
Experience with DoD and/or IC customers
