GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible for strategic management of assigned commodities/spend categories for Manitou Americas (MAM). As a member of the corporate supply chain team, work closely with materials managers, tactical buyers, engineers, and product managers to develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies that support the MAM business plan. Find, evaluate and select suppliers; negotiate pricing and LTA contracts, and drive supplier productivity & total cost improvement of purchased materials. Build value-added relationships with key suppliers, supply management, and manufacturing site teams. Work on leverage and synergy opportunities within the Manitou Group, focusing on common global commodities and supplies. An active leader in the New Product Development process.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identification, qualification, and selection of new suppliers; preparation and execution of RFQ and competitive bidding events; creation and evaluation of complex business cases; leading Contract/LTA negotiations and compliance; all while ensuring cost, quality, capacity, delivery, and capability requirements are met and sustained.

  • Collaborate with engineering on new product development activities to support projects, align design with our strategic supply base, and deliver products on time and at or below cost targets.

  • Evaluate current spend and supplier data and identify improvement opportunities and new idea projects.

  • Support of manufacturing site requirements, leveraging spend across locations to identify and implement sourcing and process improvements to strengthen and accelerate supple chain initiatives.

  • Project and/or Program Manager activities, leading projects to meet objectives and drive operational results.

  • Assess and adjust supply base capability and capacity to minimize potential supply disruptions.

  • Manage the two-pronged task of identifying new global supply sources as well as rationalizing and consolidating the existing supply base and commodity list.

  • Develop, measure, and manage key supplier performance metrics.

  • Identify, initiate, and support Corporate Social Responsibility activitie.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management, Master's Degree preferred.

  • Previous annual spend under management of $50MM or more.

  • Example of leading a negotiation of a complex long-term agreement(s) and increasing spend under management required.

  • Demonstrated record of identifying, initiating, and delivering year over year cost savings.

  • Ability to develop, interpret and make decisions from total cost of ownership models.

  • Change management experience gained in a lean manufacturing or six sigma environment is preferred.

  • Practical knowledge of how supply chains work and ability to assess cost drivers of industrial processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; with strong networking, influencing, and communication skills; and to drive effective project execution.

  • Team player who can successfully interact with internal and external organizations and effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a timely manner to ensure positive results.

  • 7+ years' experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing role. Multi-site, center-led sourcing experience preferred.

  • IFS experience or working knowledge of other ERP systems.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills inclusive of all Microsoft Business Suite required (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint). Visual basic experience a plus.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

This includes scheduled inspections and services and system component repairs and replacements. Other duties may be required and assigned. * Maintains all plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, including air handling units, furnace units, hot water heaters, floor care equipment, fans, vents, water softeners, ice machines, etc. * Performs site inspections to predict asset maintenance and replacement requirements based on age, user demand, and performance * Diagnoses cause of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical problems or failures and develops solution for repair * Analyzes blue prints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm/security/electrical/plumbing systems for the purpose of maintaining systems and coordinating repair or replacement * Conducts required testing of systems as required by code (e.g. – NFPA, Federal, State , and Local Code) * Completes routine maintenance as assigned to meet department requirements * Supports Maintenance Technicians in solving challenging maintenance problems * Responsible for maintenance inventory for the department using computer program. * Performs maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, including coolers, freezers, dishwashers, and laundry equipment. * Provides technical support to Facilities Department in specification of replacement assets and other equipment. * Tests fire and smoke alarm systems, security systems. * Performs miscellaneous ground care and operates and maintains forklift and other vehicles. * Assists in snow removal. * Performs miscellaneous exterior maintenance to buildings, and repairs cleaning equipment, as necessary. * Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.
