Overview

The purpose of the position is to evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of commercial, real estate, or other credit loans. Originate services and manages all types of commercial loan while meeting established loan quality, deposit and income goals.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Originate, review and underwrite commercial loan applications.

  • Analyze and review credit information to make a general assessment of applicant's credit worthiness and determine if the loan will conform to the bank's lending policy

  • Exercises due diligence when underwriting loans including assessing risks, real estate analysis, cash flow, profitability

  • Prepare written summary of loan terms and conditions and a written narrative explaining business background, outlining risk factor and justify assigned risk rating

  • Improve condition of loan portfolio by working to reduce delinquencies through improved collection and underwriting techniques

  • Develop and maintain business relationships and referral sources throughout the community

  • Seeks to expand bank product usage to current customers by cross selling all types of deposit accounts, loan accounts, and services during customer contacts and interviews

  • Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customer need

  • Participates in community-oriented and professional organizations to determine the various depository and credit needs of the Bank's market area to support Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) objectives

  • Update and maintain accurate new business sand renewal files

  • Respond professionally and accurately to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely manner

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • College degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field,

  • 2-3 years experience in a credit analysis/underwriting role relative to commercial lending, required

  • 5+ years of proven commercial lending experience required

  • Solid knowledge of financial lending regulations

  • Results oriented, sales aptitude with demonstrated ability to achieve organizational and business goals

  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, required

  • Ability to work flexible hours and branch hours of operation

  • Careful attention to detail and time management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong team player

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC related responsibilities in the performance of daily operations to ensure adherence to bank policies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Provides leadership to the patient financial services team, participating in the selection and training of staff members. This position serves as a primary resource in complex and/or sensitive cases and may be assigned to work in any position in the department based on the departmental need. Essential Functions Provides leadership and training to Patient Financial Services Representatives. Provides leadership for the team by successfully leading special projects, training staff, providing suggestions to improve processes and serving as a resource for complex and sensitive accounts. As assigned, processes payments, adjustments, claims, correspondence, refunds, denials, financial/charity applications, and/or payment plans in an accurate and timely manner, meeting goals in work quality and productivity. Coordinates with other staff members and physician office staff as necessary ensure correct processing. As assigned, reconciles, balances and pursues account balances and payments, and/or denials, working with payor remits, facility contracts, payor customer service, provider representatives, spreadsheets and the companys collection/self-pay policies to ensure maximum reimbursement. As assigned, researches payments, denials and/or accounts to determine short/over payments, contract discrepancies, incorrect financial classes, internal/external errors. Makes appeals and corrections as necessary. Builds strong working relationships with assigned business units, hospital departments or provider offices. Identifies trends in payment issues and communicates with internal and external customers as appropriate to educate and correct problems. Provides assistance and excellent customer service to these internal clients. Responds to incoming calls and makes outbound calls as required to resolve billing and payment issues. Provides assistance and excellent customer service to patients, patient families, providers, and other internal and external customers. Reduces Accounts Receivable balances. Works as a member of the patient financial services team to achieve goals in days and dollars of outstanding accounts. Uses systems to provide statistical data, prepare issues list(s) and to communicate with payors accurately. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over two or more years of work experience. Requires knowledge of medical terminology and a broad understanding of all common insurance and payor types and authorization requirements.Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently. Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.
