As New Relic's adoption of cloud technologies accelerates, our need to provide mature security guidance and engineering support grows. The Information Security Team at New Relic is responsible for ensuring the protection of our customers' data, and we're looking for an engineer that's passionate about security in the cloud to help us continue that commitment for years to come.

As an engineer of our growing Infrastructure Security team, you'll collaborate with diverse teams throughout the organization, guiding their adoption and improvement of security practices as we continue to scale our infrastructure and service growth in the cloud.

What You'll Do

  • Build and implement solutions that monitor and validate security controls throughout our cloud infrastructure

  • Assess the architecture and security controls across our AWS infrastructure

  • Perform regular, automated assessments of our global cloud infrastructure

  • Coordinate and participate in scoped penetration tests

  • Research and validate security vulnerabilities, and propose solutions for remediation or mitigation

  • Cultivate relationships with diverse teams to grow our collaborative culture and improve the security of our customers' data

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 2+ years of direct engineering experience in a multi-account, multi-region AWS environment

  • Proficiency in an SDK-supported language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Go

  • Experience working with AWS Security Hub and associated services

  • Some experience or familiarity with Lambda (language agnostic)

  • Clear understanding of IAM, policies, and SCPs

  • Strong understanding of cloud security standards and tools

  • Capability to perform threat modeling and articulate findings to internal teams

  • Ability to work with people with varying levels of technical expertise

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with GCP or Azure platforms

  • Experience with one or more Infrastructure-as-Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • functional knowledge of container orchestration technologies (ideally, Kubernetes)

  • Understanding of common exploitation techniques against AWS accounts

  • Familiarity with Pacu or similar exploitation frameworks

  • Any cloud certifications, especially security related
