What you'll be doing...
The Information Security Architecture team focuses on the design and implementation of security reference architecture across the Verizon enterprise. We partner with the IT and business teams to generate new security standards, controls, and processes to protect Verizon systems and data. We heavily focus on new and emerging cloud technology as well as advising our internal customers on implementation of new security controls and products that align with industry best practices.
You will work in conjunction with lead security architects to conduct enterprise level security assessments to evaluate Verizon's existing security posture, identify weaknesses and make recommendations. You will help to define, document and promote security standards and policy for the enterprise.
Manage multiple projects with a degree of impact and complexity that must be carefully controlled to support the internal business unit security requirements.
Work in conjunction with lead security architects to make decisions and help lead initiatives to ensure timely delivery of security solutions that support IT Security and business objectives.
Manage work that involves coordination with multiple organizations and is the focal point within the group.
Work with little or no supervision, and will regularly be given high-level directives and allowed to work independently to satisfy the requirements.
Make decisions on matters of risk and architectural approach reflect your experience.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience building security reference architectures for common IT deployments and hybrid/cloud scenarios (including AWS or Azure or Google, etc.)
Even better if you have:
Experience in IT security architecture, compliance and risk management in a technical SME and Leadership capacity.
Experience advising customers on architectures meeting industry standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST/DoD frameworks.
Knowledge of a wide range of IT system components including architecture, authentication, connectivity, system hardware and software components, virtualization, cloud computing, and mobile.
Advanced understanding of IT system and network design, security and topology.
Knowledge of standard LAN/WAN/Cloud technologies. Expert ability to identify risk issues in network designs and communicate with key stake holders to address the risk and drive a solution.
Expert ability to write and modify corporate wide security policy. Expert ability to create communication documents for all levels of understanding (high level to technical).
Advanced understanding of techniques and tricks used by hackers to gain entry into corporate networks.
Advanced understanding of Operating Systems (OS's), their flaws, vulnerabilities and exposure to control circumvention.
Technical experience in security including architecture or security management, User, platform and device authentication, and various levels of access controls and authorization, Enterprise Directories and their integration with other systems in a large, complex environment.
Experience with enterprise class security products such as Identity Management, Web Access Management and Single Sign On.
Knowledge of application security, including Web Services and SOA, as well as Agile and DevOps. Mobile security and mobile development.
Knowledge of security for structured databases and unstructured data, such as access controls, encryption, monitoring and others.
Experience within the transformation of traditional data center security measures into industry adopted cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc.
Expertise in network security, such as web proxy, reverse proxy, load balancing, IDS/IPS, Firewall, SSL VPN, WAN/LAN, DDOS prevention, wireless and remote connectivity.
Knowledge of infrastructure security, including windows, Unix/Linux, desktop/laptop, and mobile security, as well as knowledge on cryptography and PKI.
Ability to work with compliance frameworks and requirements such as PCI, HIPAA, SOX etc.
Demonstrated knowledge on threat landscape, security threat and vulnerability management, and security monitoring and analytics.
Willingness to travel up to a maximum of 25%
