Position Responsibilities:

Our team is growing to support a large scale data processing and analytics environment for a federal agency. This position would setup, migrate, manage, and administer large databases in AWS RDS.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Create automation and tooling for large scale data processing applications

  • Migrate legacy applications as cloud optimized services

  • Identify and implement tools for monitoring database performance and security

  • Assist in establishing data standards and documenting the data dictionary

  • Manage database security including access control, activity logging, and privilege enforcement

  • Develop, manage, and test data migration, backups, and recovery

  • Communicate implementation progress multiple times daily

  • Effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Keep technical implementation on time and within budget

  • Maintain an iterative and adaptable mindset

The following skills are required:

  • Authorized to work in the US

  • Expertise with Oracle 12c or greater

  • Expertise with Sql Server 2012 or greater

  • Experience with SAS 9.4

  • Big data management and analysis using Amazon EMR, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Kinesis, or similar

  • Proficiency with AWS and VMWare Cloud

  • Experience with Database Performance Monitoring tools

  • Comfortable with the command-line

The following skills are a plus:

  • Experience with Ansible Tower, Ansible Engine, Puppet, and/or Chef

  • Reporting and analytics using Databricks, Tableau, or similar tools

  • Graduate Degree in Business or Technology

  • Experience running or contributing to open source projects

Your future duties and responsibilities: * Install, configure, maintain (upgrade and patch) an ERP database (Momentum's componentized contract writing system) * Create, monitor, optimize database performance utilizing advanced performance tuning skills * Automate recurring or redundant database tasks * Maintain database integrity, availability, and restorability * Execute and automate database refreshes * Work in an Agile Scrum environment * Provide on-call support which can require analysis and trouble shooting of complex issues * Lead and contribute to design discussions in a cross-functional project setting * Develop database standards, guidelines and best practices * Design and architect solutions which often require complex system integration * Perform capacity planning and project estimation * Evaluate and research new database features, version and technologies Required qualifications to be successful in this role: * 5+ years ERP database administration experience in a data warehouse environment (managing multiple databases) * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business or equivalent (experience in lieu of a degree) * Oracle 12c experience is required * Experience with configuration, load balancing, backup/recovery, sizing and space management, PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, and proficiency in the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager * Candidate must have a Top Secret clearance * Outstanding communication and troubleshooting skills Desired Linux/AIR experience Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies is a plus. * LI-BW1 Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
