Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect for our Irvine, CA location to drive development of new solutions and improvements to existing supported applications. Partnering with the business and end customers to understand and deliver to their needs will require keen communication and thought leadership skills.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Drives the technical assessment and disposition of the applications

  • Consults with application transformation teams on their refactoring efforts

  • Supports customers in integrating cloud solutions with their existing logging and monitoring solutions

  • Helps customers create or integrate with existing CI/CD pipeline

  • Helps customers choose the right applications for cloud conversion.

  • Supports customers in creating a platform/application-level scaffolding for migrating multiple applications to cloud

  • Assists customers with migrating legacy applications to cloud

  • Pairs with customers' architects/developers to impart the skills needed to be successful in their long-term digital transformation efforts

  • Enables customers to build a new class of digital applications as they transform their business

  • Travel required 25% - periodically

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Customer-focused, hands-on technical expert with the ability to provide consultation and discuss technical concepts with leadership that may have varying degrees of technical expertise

  • Experience with private and public cloud platforms and providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure

  • Technical skills in Java, .NET framework/core, as well as CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, Concourse or others. Either Java or .NET. Candidate does not require both.

  • Experience and knowledge of domain-driven design, microservices architecture and Agile development

  • Experience with Ruby/Rails, Go, messaging (RabbitMQ/AMQP, JMS), RDBMS, Redis and open-source contributor, a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and environments while being able to see and present the "big picture"

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management skills and organizational skills

  • Hands-on, technical subject matter expert with the ability to propose, present and influence architectural design ideas to executives and technical management as well as work with customers' developers, architects and technical management

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience

Global Network & Technology (GN&T) Security Planning is seeking a cloud security SME to lead and drive the development of end-to-end security architectures and roadmaps for Verizon's private cloud, Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP), and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). You will be the primary cloud resource communicating implementation security requirements for enterprise wide private cloud. The cloud SME will lead the VCP team to ensure security is built in from the beginning of all cloud infrastructure instead of being bolted on after the fact. The cloud security SME will use their expert level knowledge of OpenStack, Linux systems, virtualization, and orchestration to ensure Verizon has managed all significant security risks on the latest cloud technologies. The SME will also work with academic and research institutions to identify and mitigate long-term security threats affecting the industry. Responsibilities * Build Verizon Cloud Platform security requirements which entails detailing all security controls applicable to a private cloud infrastructure including administrative access, logging, management & control plane security, network security, vulnerability management, etc. * Consult as SME on cloud related projects to ensure Verizon deploys tenant and infrastructure in the most secure and economical manner. As a SME, you are expected to be the lead security expert in your field and direct project owners on how to comply with corporate governance and pass a risk assessment * Research and conduct POCs on new security solutions that enhance overall cloud security and visibility to include cost, operational, and functional analyses. Proof of Concepts entail physical and virtual simulations replicating live network conditions with detailed objectives and results documented and communicated to leadership. This often includes close collaboration with a vendor and Verizon lab engineers including project management over many days, weeks, or months. What we're looking for... You will need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience. * Willingness to travel up to approximately 50 percent of the time.
