Position Summary

Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location is designated as virtual/hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.

This position will serve as a Senior Clinical Research Data Coordinator within the Early Psychosis Interventions North Carolina (EPI-NC) program in the Department of Psychiatry. The Senior Clinical Research Data Coordinator is responsible for independently leading efforts in the planning, organization, and conduct of clinical research data management for multiple complex study protocols. The Clinical Research Data Coordinator is expected to use their full knowledge of research data coordination to lead and work within their multiple complex assignments.

EPI-NC provides technical assistance and clinical training, quality improvement data collection and analysis and fidelity monitoring to First Episode Psychosis Coordinated Specialty Care Programs (FEP CSS) in North Carolina. EPI-NC also performs community outreach and education with the aim of reducing duration of untreated psychosis and works with the Programs to implement new, evidenced based interventions.

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain the projects' REDCap databases, analyze the data, and generate reports based on the analyzed data. This position trains and monitors FEP CSS staff assigned to collect and enter data into the project data base.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work and communicate with various populations effectively and professionally.

  • Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Proficiency with R programming including database manipulation and analyses.

  • Expertise in the generation of reports from REDCap databases and developing and modifying REDCap databases.

  • Experience in developing training manuals and training others to use the REDCap database.

  • Experience in monitoring data quality and developing strategies with staff assigned to enter data to minimize missing data.

  • Experience in working with a team to enhance the utility of databases to further the project goals.
