Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Medical/Surgical team. This full-time role is pivotal in supporting, supervising, and evaluating new clinical staff during their initial period at our facility. The successful candidate will embody our values of excellence in nursing care, acting as a clinical resource, and fostering a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare.

  • Full-time position (40 hours weekly) with day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and supervise new clinical staff during their first 90 to 180 days
  • Engage in nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system interactions
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration in patient care within your specialty
  • Promote clinical standards of practice and establish competency standards
  • Serve as a clinical resource and conduct patient care consultations
  • Assess the impact of practices on patient outcomes using your extensive knowledge base

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited clinical nurse specialist program (CCNE or NLNAC)
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • Current certification in area of specialty (e.g., CEN, CCRN)
  • Minimum of 3 years Registered Nursing experience in the specialty area
  • At least 2 years of Clinical Leadership responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNS certification in the specialty area upon hire
