Job Description:

Fundamental Administrative Services, a health care consulting and management company based out of Sparks, MD is searching for a Senior Clinical Analyst to join our team.

About the Position:

The Senior Clinical Analyst serves as a key clinical IT resource for the support of a broad set of clinical applications.

Position Summary:

Holds primary responsibility for the support and maintenance of the clinical applications in use by organization; Functions as a clinical expert on Matrix functionality e.g. MDS, Care Plans, Physician Orders, POC, and Documentation; Maintains a detailed understanding of assigned applications/systems; Translates operational needs into application and/or system solutions, developing and testing applications for customers; When appropriate, trains users on system use ensuring that data input and information retrieval are done properly; Provides accurate, timely, high-quality customer assistance and problem resolution services in a professional manner.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Business Management or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Prior working experience in project management practices and skills, system analysis techniques, communications and training.

  • 5 -10 plus years working in a HealthCare field and experience with utilizing and/or participate in the implementation of a Electronic Health Record System.

  • Strong working knowledge of electronic health record systems from a variety of healthcare settings e.g. long term care, hospital, home health

POSITION OVERVIEW The incumbent will serve as a business partner working towards company goals and objectives by developing and leveraging expertise with financial systems and processes. This role will develop an in-depth understanding of system configuration including: data sources, data flows, calculations, etc. The incumbent will be expected to understand system requirements and associated business processes, as well as administer the system to meet business needs. This role will serve as a contact point for users to answer questions, investigate and resolve issues and drive improvements. Additionally, the incumbent may be assigned projects or analyses in support of system enhancements, process efficiencies, optimizations and analyses of operational results. RESPONSIBILITIES * With high level guidance, gather and analyze data to create forward financial information in support of management needs. * Clearly articulate the methodology and all key assumptions used in the analysis. * Prepare and deliver management presentations that summarize key assumptions, findings, and conclusions. * Responsible for critical elements of system administration and support. * Maintain critical elements of system administration, performing data validation activities, forecast set up, cost run and/or assessment maintenance, problem identification and assisting with the investigation and resolution of data and system issues. * Make recommendations to management for system resolution and optimization. Research and respond to user questions and concerns about the system. * Create, deliver and/or manage delivery of training sessions, user groups or addressing direct questions from users globally as applicable. * Research and respond to user questions and concerns about the system. * Understand the key transactions and reports, as applicable, used by the functions and businesses supported (in SAP R3, BW, TM1 and local systems), being able to follow data flow and the systems basic principles as well as understanding the calculation of key fields and how they are used in reporting & analysis. * With limited guidance from management, provide project management and/or thought leadership in projects to improve processes and leverage the power of McCormick's financial systems (i.e. SAP, BW, TM1 and local systems). * Lead discussions with business partners to define business requirements. * Research new features and functionality. Develop and execute both functional and integrated test plans to validate any system or process changes or enhancements. * Maintain an effective control environment and SOX compliance. Able to identify areas of potential control weakness, suggest and implement solutions to minimize risk. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related academic field. * Minimum 3 years' experience in Accounting/Financial planning and analysis. * Hands on experience managing and maintaining financial systems. * Experience participating in and providing support for financial projects\initiatives. * Demonstrated skills in interpreting & analyzing data. * Proven influencing and communications skills required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * MBA * 5 years' experience in Accounting/Financial planning & analysis * Experience in SAP, BW, TM1 and other OLAP systems. * Experience consulting in application design and implementation. * Knowledge of professional accounting rules, standards and associations. * Experience in project management.
