As a Senior Client Engineer, you'll work closely with peer engineers, architects, and third party partners to help drive technical road-maps, standards and to provide tier 3 support. It is an exciting time to join REI! You'll be on the ground floor defining and implementing our next generation client solutions to include, PC, mobility, wireless printing, etc. in physical, virtual, and cloud based delivery models. We'll look to you to develop, document and communicate best practices in a variety of areas including: PC & mobile device management, application distribution, version control, security patching and other compliance activities. You'll lead cross team collaborative efforts including peer engineers, architects, business users and third party partners. You'll be able to grow your skills and explore new technologies as we continually evolve our people, process and technologies.

Job Functions:

  • Interact with IT Vendors, Business Analysts and IT staff to identify and document requirements that will be used to produce client computing requirements

  • Design and set standards for client computing standards that include: desktops, laptops, tablets, virtual desktops, Windows Operating Systems, Office Productivity Suites, and other technologies to meet business needs

  • Participate in the administration of client management solutions: SCCM, Jamf, AirWatch, InTune

  • Develop and drive strategy for adopting and deploying new technologies

  • Proactive monitor desktop environment for standards compliance

  • Develop and maintain architecture and technical standards and procedures

  • Manage projects and associated budget as assigned

  • Learn new client computing technologies as they emerge to provide analysis of their potential impact to our business

  • Provide leadership and consulting on client computing devices

  • Partner with Purchasing and Asset Management for vendor management, vendor relations, contracts and software assurance

  • Collaborate and communicate client solution strategies, initiatives, and projects with appropriate IT staff

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of IT Client Engineering experience supporting Windows, MAC, iOS & Android OS's in a distributed environment required

  • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of Personal Computing & MAC devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, virtual desktops)

  • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of current supported Windows & MAC Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office Suites (2013, 2016, Office 365) required

  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or Jamf managing security patching, software packaging, testing, and software deployments desired

  • Solid understanding of mobile device management solutions for Android, iOS, and Windows

  • Solid understanding of core wired & wireless networking principles and technologies Active Directory experience in creating, modifying and troubleshooting GPOs

  • Experience determining desktop computing solutions required

  • Experience working with IT vendors required

  • Experience managing projects and associated budget required

  • Experience with one or more of the following coding or scripting languages: PowerShell, Perl, Python, Java

  • Experience creating technical documentation and presentations required

  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 support

  • Self-starter with the ability to lead others and achieve results

  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent training and experience

Our agile team, operating under rapid design paradigm, is composed of team members that are able to work across several engineering disciplines to generate proof-of-concept demo programs, forming the next generation of space protection products. Our team deals with cradle to grave development, creating custom hardware in-house. Work is varied, and products may span from innovative bus development to payload subsystems. We are seeking an experienced multifunctional RF and/or mechanical designer who can work designs from requirements definition through lab testing--sometimes in very small groups, and sometimes in larger teams. The successful candidate will be able to work across both mechanical and RF domains in some capacity. Degrees in both fields are not required, but experience in both is required. A candidate with an RF-dominant skillset will be able to define RF requirements, create innovative solutions to new problems, create block-diagram architectures, form systems from components, implement design, and test in lab. This candidate will also be able to work to create mechanical designs to a non-flight prototype level. A candidate with a mechanical-dominate skillset will be experienced in working new mechanical architectures from cradle to grave, experience with CAD, and experience integrating subsystems into larger systems.
