The Senior Clerk position serves as a staff supports for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and may assist with other nutrition programs. He/she provides services in the WIC Program in accordance with the policies of the state WIC Program and regulations as stated in DHM 150-24. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Operations Management Consultant II SES.

Answer calls made to the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention call center. Gather information to determine appointment needs and make the appropriate appointment. Inform clients of what to bring to their appointment, appointment time, date and location.

Perform general clerical and reception office duties to maintain the flow of incoming and outgoing services

Attend mandatory and scheduled trainings. Accurate and timely submission of Employee Activity Record (EARs), time records, travel logs, monthly report of activities, referrals, and other reports are submitted to the CNS Administrative Office.

Answer telephones, filing, purge records, and perform travel in relation to above duties and for professional development. Maintain a courteous and cooperative working relationship with the staff, clients and other Health Department staff at all times. A valid unrestricted Florida Driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Participate in the Florida Department of Health Duval County

  • Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention Disaster Plan as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other job-related requirements for this position:

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

All employees are expected to complete timesheets and EARs/DARs as required, both accurately and within the required timeframe. All employees are expected to complete mandatory trainings within the required timeframe, as deemed necessary by the Department, the Delegated Authority, grant requirements and/or Florida Statutes.
