This opportunity is accountable for managing a diverse portfolio of complex and high severity claims underwritten out of the Financial Institutions and Public Company teams, focusing mainly on D&O, Fiduciary and Financial Institutions E&O. Collaborate with internal business partners (senior management, underwriters, actuaries) and external customers (insureds, brokers, defense counsel) in order to achieve desired result.
The Opportunity
This role will manage a diverse portfolio of complex and high severity claims underwritten out of the Financial Institutions and Public Company teams, focusing mainly on D&O, Fiduciary and Financial Institutions E&O. Collaborate with internal business partners (senior management, underwriters, actuaries) and external customers (insureds, brokers, defense counsel) in order to achieve desired result.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct independent coverage, liability and damages analysis in order to assess the extent of potential exposure to the Company.
Draft correspondence that accurately and succinctly communicates Company's coverage position.
Analyze, develop and determine appropriate case reserves on all assigned claim files and recommend changes where necessary to ensure actuarial accuracy.
Attend mediations of complex claims on behalf of the Company in order to effectively negotiate
settlements within appropriate authority and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, statutes, best practices and Department of Insurance (DOI) compliance.

Collaborate with outside representative counsel to formulate litigation strategy ensuring achievement of desired outcome.
Represent QBE by participating in and attending industry seminars or authoring articles.
Collaborate with Underwriters to identify, understand and address novel or complex risks to appropriately price and negotiate terms including participation in sales calls and requests for proposals (RFPs).
Take ownership for personal development and career planning, and development of required skills, tools, techniques, and technology to continually add value to the organization.
Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility.

Preferred Experience & Knowledge
Advanced working knowledge of Financial Institutions (D&O, Fiduciary, E&O) products, policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the business and organization; knows how the business works.
Strong preference for specific experience handling Asset Manager, Private Equity, Investment Management, Hedge Fund and/or Insurance Company Professional liability claims.
Advanced working knowledge of insurance policy and contract language.
Advanced working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources.
Advanced working knowledge of experts in field of concentration, including attorneys, mediators, judges and experts.

Compensation
Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs
Annual Salary Range: $121,000 - $182,000

Annual Salary Range: $133,000 - $200,000
CA (Remote, Fresno, Irvine and Woodland), Greenwood Village CO, CT, Chicago IL, MA, MD, NY (Remote), RI, Houston TX and WA
Annual Salary Range: $152,000 - $228,000
San Francisco CA, NJ and New York City NY
