The Las Vegas office for Collins Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to help lead the site/civil team. The Senior Project Manager will work under the guidance of the Regional Manager to help grow the office. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management and experience working with the local agencies. There will also be opportunity for advancement as the office grows.

The primary responsibility of this role is management of multiple projects of varying size and complexity, as well as assisting in the leadership and development of staff.

SUMMARY:

The Senior Civil Project Manager represents Collins in a majority of communications with clients from initial effort, throughout entire course of agreement activity, and in post-agreement marketing activities on a regular basis. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating projects.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.

  • Oversees the use of computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

  • Responsible for projects compliance with state and local codes, laws, ordinances and agency requirements.

  • Adopts and implements in-house QA/QC program.

  • Serves as project manager on complex projects and as designated client contact.

  • Provides leadership on multiple projects of varying size and complexity.

  • Coordinates work, contracts, schedules and budgets with project team, other departments, offices and sub-consultants.

  • Prepares agreements and contracts, sets project goals, fees, schedule, budget, and staffing needs.

  • Maintains understanding of project financials. Regularly reviews schedules, deadline and budgets to ensure profitability.

  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.

  • Ensures accurate client billings, reviews invoices, and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.

  • Assists with developing new projects and clients, provides marketing technical support, assists in proposal preparation, and participates in presentations as needed.

  • Has primary responsibility for client contact to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

  • Assists in ensuring that external client focus is top priority of the region and those systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented.

  • Leads the pursuit process, including: proposal preparation, project scoping, estimating project costs, contract negotiations, project planning, and project quality.

  • Directs and supervises other engineers activities.

  • Provides leadership to project teams and support staff.

  • Serves as a mentor for other Project Managers and technical staff.

  • Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.

  • 10 years or more experience, with at least 5 years progressive experience in project management.

  • Experience in Civil Site Planning & Land Development (Retail, Commercial, Multi-Family & Industrial)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Nevada
