World Vision is hiring a Senior Church Advisor

01 The Job As Senior Church Advisor II, you will effectively collaborate within the Church and Ministry Partnership teams to invite pastors and congregants into God's transforming and renewing work of justice and mercy for the elimination of extreme poverty. You will establish, maintain and grow relationships with church pastors, denominations, national Christian leaders, and para church organizations to meet annual Church team's fundraising goals. You will increase fundraising and partner/donor participation year-over-year by calling them to a life changing commitment to serve the poor in the name of Christ.

You will also help carry out our Christian organization's mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role. Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

02 What success looks like

  • You will be responsible for raising a minimum of $700,000 within first year, and a minimum of $1,500,000 in total value each fiscal year thereafter through sponsorship acquisition, one-time-gift, and/or multi-year financial commitments.

  • Establish at least 10 new church partnerships annually in assigned markets. Develop, expand and sustain long-term relationships through on-going interaction with senior level pastors, churches, church influencers and donors, while shaping interests in World Vision's transformational experience and offerings and position World Vision as a desirable partner.

  • Network through relationships with current pastors and pastor associations to develop new church partnerships.

  • Represent WVUS in high-level church network, association, denomination and agency meeting.

  • Conduct presentation with pastors, congregants, groups and individual regarding World Vision's ministry and invite them to participate in our church offerings.

  • Work collaboratively with department leaders in developing and implementing church growth strategies.

  • Plan and implement account management strategy to ensure existing church relations are given appropriate amount of attention each year.

  • Take qualified church pastors or other Christian influencers on vision trips to World Vision projects.

  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

07 You bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience.

  • In addition to education or educational equivalent, requires work experience in fundraising, partnership management, marketing, ministry and/or sales; 5 years.

  • Bi-lingual Korean

  • Demonstrated experience implementing moves management techniques to effectively manage high level accounts or complex partnerships required.

08 Additional skills we're interested in Established relationships and networks with churches and pastors within geographic area strongly preferred. Experience working with Christian denominations, networks, or large to mega Christian churches preferred.

This position supports the Department of State’s Office of Conservation and Water, within the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs (OES/ECW).  The position’s purpose is to strengthen the office’s engagement combating wildlife trafficking (CWT) in order to protect American security by addressing wildlife trafficking and wildlife conservation issues as well as other conservation crimes and improving natural resource governance.<br />  <br /> The Office of Conservation and Water coordinates the development of U.S. foreign policy approaches to conserving and sustainably managing the world's ecologically and economically important ecosystems, including, forests, wetlands, drylands and coral reefs, the species that depend on them, and the world’s water resources.<br />  <br /> The following are the duties and responsibilities of this position:<br />  <br /> The STA will support and advance ECW’s program objectives related to international environmental priorities, including those identified by the National Security Council, through technical interventions and initiatives to combat wildlife trafficking and other practices which increase zoonotic disease risk, as well as related efforts to improve wildlife conservation bilaterally, regionally and globally.<br />  <br />  Specific examples of work duties include:<br />   <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Liaise with relevant Bureau, Mission, Department and interagency offices, as well as implementers and local and international stakeholders for program coordination and the management of CWT programs and initiatives;</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Assists in coordinating interagency processes, including reports related to wildlife conservation and wildlife trafficking, that include, among others: Commerce, Commerce/NOAA, DOI, DOJ, DHS/CBP, DHS/ICE/HIS, State/INL, Treasury, USAID, USDA/APHIS, USDA/FAS, USFS, USFWS, USTR, and DOD.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide assistance and guidance for CWT and related programs throughout the foreign assistance funding cycle, including drafting and processing congressional notifications, solicitation and award processes, drafting implementation work plans, conducting award and agreement management, including through closeout;</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Maintain official award and agreement files for all assistance mechanisms commensurate with bureau and Department requirements, including proper documentation, reporting, communications, etc.;</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Develop, with other DOS bureaus and offices, USAID, appropriate USG agencies, and external stakeholders, partnerships to advance U.S. interests on CWT;</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Draft memos or letters to principals within the Department, to other U.S. agencies, and to interested stakeholders.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide input into ECW contributions to Bureau strategic planning and performance reporting documents for CWT foreign assistance funding, including but not limited to, Operational Plans, Bureau Strategic Plans, Bureau Resource Requests, Performance and Planning Reports, and Congressional Budget Justifications.</li> </ul>  <br /> Qualifications:<br />   <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Top Secret security clearance</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Work experience demonstrating knowledge of the principles of program management and budgeting.
