As a Senior CFD Engineer at Donaldson Company, you will not only play a part in creating products that impact lives, but also provide value and direction for the filtration industry. You will be responsible for large scale projects that help us work towards our aggressive company growth goals. In this role you will work on air and liquid filtration product simulation and technology development from within our central research and development organization.
Demonstrating innovation and knowledge generation though simulation and data analysis utilizing a variety of tools and resources available in a technology driven company
Becoming subject matter expert in aerosol, hydrosol and filtration systems by utilizing simulation and experimental results
Using mechanical/computational/statistical aptitude and problem solving skills to advance products and technologies
Managing test programs to ensure product simulations and designs are meeting expectations
Providing design guidance and input on current products and future technologies and products
Identifying new opportunities for technology in the marketplace
Educating others on filtration and separation principles and tools as a market leader in filtration.
Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Physics with 5 years experience or Masters degree with 3 yrs exp.
5 plus years of related engineering experience, with 3 years of experience with CFD simulation and/or numerical projects
Knowledge of CFD, commercial and/or custom modeling tools
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of company personnel and others outside of the company
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others
Fundamental physics knowledge
Knowledge of flow within turbomachinery and vortex dynamics
Familiarity with Lattice-Boltzmann, Large-eddy Simulation and/or Direct Numerical Simulations
Experience with Lagrangian particle tracking
Experience with aerosol or hydrosol science or filtration products is a plus
Experience with design experiments and working in a lab environment is a plus
Experience with Star-CCM
