Job Summary

Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences through exceptional food and service? Look no further! Join our dynamic team as a Senior Catering Manager at the prestigious California State University-Northridge.

You'll play a pivotal role in our high-volume and premiere catering department, orchestrating seamless events that leave a lasting impression. Your role will be instrumental in coordinating both internal and external catering events, ensuring every occasion is executed flawlessly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Craft Memorable Experiences: From creating customized banquet event orders to guiding clients through the planning process, you'll be instrumental in curating unforgettable moments for our guests.

Drive Business Growth: Your proactive approach to seeking new business opportunities, whether through responding to inquiries or networking at events, will contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of our catering services.

Ensure Operational Excellence: Collaborating closely with both Back of House (BOH) and Front of House (FOH) staff, you'll guarantee that events are not only executed seamlessly but also exceed expectations.

Continuous Improvement: Soliciting feedback and identifying areas for improvement, you'll play a vital role in refining our services and elevating the overall event experience.

Build Lasting Relationships: Cultivating strong rapport with clients and customers, you'll foster mutually beneficial partnerships that drive satisfaction and loyalty.

Empower Your Team: Through training and development initiatives, you'll nurture the talents of our catering staff, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver excellence at every event.

Strategic Collaboration: Working hand-in-hand with management and marketing teams, you'll implement innovative strategies to enhance our catering revenue and market presence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A.S. or equivalent experience

General Hospitality knowledge and interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices

At least two years similar work experience

High-volume catering experience

Ability to interact with diverse and high-volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.

Ability to operate Web based ordering system, process customer requests, changes to orders, menu updates and client profiles.

Proficient with word processing and spread sheet applications.

Ability to write professional and efficient communications to clients and customers.

Possess the ability to meet Company specific uniform standards for this position.

Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment's per Company guidelines.

Ability to work at times with minimal supervision, and accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions.

This position supervises numerous (5-10) hourly employees, including delivery personnel and culinary personnel.
