Summary:

In this role, you will serve as a category expert for assigned Surgical Services portfolio of products and / or services for internal and external stakeholders. You will manage a competitive contract portfolio by driving the strategy and development of the agreements to help members elevate supply cost performance and achieve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage moderate to high complexity portfolio (e.g., high visibility, utilization, and/or legal issues), supplier and member relationships to ensure the highest quality and best overall value.

• Provide expertise within the spend categories managed to members, suppliers, Vizient field team, advisory solutions, legal, finance, and other internal and external stakeholders.

• Develop RFP strategy, negotiates in partnership with Contract Managers, and manages spend categories within the developed framework to deliver unique value to all clients (e.g., members and suppliers).

• Facilitate gathering member input from member councils and/or task forces to understand member needs and incorporate into contracting initiatives.

• Formulate category strategy through financial analysis, evaluating new technology, monitoring health care industry trends, and utilizing database resources.

• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure alignment for member needs and market competitiveness across Vizient services and technology offerings.

• Combine market intelligence from multiple sources to generate strategic insights that drive informed decision making, exhibits deep understanding of trends in health care for assigned moderate to high complexity portfolio (e.g., utilization impacting current and future demand, needs for innovative technology, and shifts in sites of care).

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and revenue plans to measure contract performance against category objectives; may support other Category Managers on how to gather data and prepare the budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred.

• 5 or more years of relevant experience required.

• Experience in a health care environment preferred.

• Demonstrated expertise in competitive bidding, and management of high-profile agreements preferred.

• Financially savvy working with expense and revenue budgets preferred.

• Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

$88,900.00 - $132,250.00
