The Sr Category Insights Analyst role is responsible for driving category strategies with Walmart that result in market leading category growth and joint value creation. This individual will be responsible for translating these into category growth driving modular executions. This person will serve as the primary category resource for multiple stakeholders at the customer including (but not limited to) Merchants, Buyers, and Modular Development.

This person should be an expert in analytics, Walmart assortment discipline, business processes, and key shopper/ category systems such as POS/Retail Link, Syndicated Data, JDA Space Planning Software. This person should be able to operate a high level fast paced, complex, and changing business environment. Responsibilities:
Serve as Category Advisor on specified category Provide unbiased strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to Walmart buyers on Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing, and Promotional opportunities to improve category performance Provide superior support to Buyer during modular relay process Uncover business opportunities with deep-dive analytics using a variety of resources including, but not limited to:

POS/ Retail Link, Syndicated Data, Marketplace & HH Panel Assessments, and Ad/Promotion Review Responsible for leading Analysts to provide value-added weekly reporting to customer Work with internal Shopper/Category partners on research opportunities: provide voice-of-customer, facilitate research projects, and activate findings to be customer-specific Work with category management and internal partners on Category Strategy Development including growth plans for focus Segments/Brands, Regional/Demographic Opportunities, and Assortment Gaps Influence and execute the modular activation of merchandising improvements, efficient assortment, and clustering solutions Lead, trait, and develop Analyst team members as subject matter experts and superior modular drawing expertise Ensure Analyst team members have appropriate talent development focus with development plans, on-going coaching/feedback and succession plans Develop, leverage, and share best-practices to enhance the entire category management team Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required Minimum of two (2) years in customer insights, category insights/management, consumer or relevant business experience is required Must have the ability to understand and interpret shopper and category insights research and a strong understanding of syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen) Ability to elevate direct reports' capabilities, as well as passion for coaching and developing staff members is required Knowledge of computer technology, analytical software programs, MS Office Suite and database management, including development of queries and assessment of data to draw accurate conclusions is required Ability to independently devise work scheduling for others and to organize and complete assigned work is required Strong presentation skills and ability to tailor skills and presentation style to a variety of key decision makers is required Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information across multiple levels is required Ability to develop and oversee the execution of project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, shopper and category studies is required Experience with space planning software is required This position will be located in Bentonville-Rogers, Arkansas and will require up to 15% domestic travel Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer. The goal of the Shopper and Category Insights function is to be on the leading edge for the retailer integrating consumer, shopper and analytic insights, processes and tools to drive vision and strategy for each category. These responsibilities include some of the following: Work collaboratively with the Walmart Buyer to understand priorities and strategies to deliver winning approaches; be recognized as a strategic partner Develop category growth initiatives to influence customer category strategies that drive sales and market share growth Identify and develop value creating strategies and opportunities for the category Apply marketing research information (IRI, Nielsen, Numerator and Primary) as it relates to shopper and category strategy Analyze category dynamics for the local team and retailer including consumption and shopper behavioural data to identify category trends, competitive activity from account programs that may have major, long-term impact on goals and strategies Lead annual category modular review process(es) understanding category trends, shelf and space opportunities and make appropriate recommendations to the planogram to drive incrementality and market share gains Must embrace and utilize advanced analytics and technology, such as the following: Store level data to analysis and drive business Virtual aisle, as well as shelf validation methodologies GSK Shopper Science Lab and proprietary Advance Range Review Tool (ARRT) Must drive for results that are customer focused: Broaden level of influence throughout Walmart, particularly within non-purchasing functions (i.e. vendor collaboration, marketing, research, store testing, etc) Collaborate with Shopper Insights in applying Category Leadership Platform strategies, identifying knowledge gaps, shopper trends and developing vision for the category present and future state Why you?
