Position Details:

Senior Catalog Merchandising Associates are important to Grainger as they help connect customer needs with the right product solutions and category strategy.

You will develop merchandising strategies and production project management for Grainger catalogs. This includes the general catalog, which is Grainger's leading marketing tool. Manage the content (data) shown on print catalog page and online catalog page. Provide analytical sales data to help merchandise pages for optimum sales performance.

You will report to the Catalog Merchandising Manager in the Publishing team.

This role can be based in Lake Forest or Chicago, IL in a hybrid capacity, onsite 3 days a week OR remote for out of state candidates.

You Will:

  • Lead the implementation of the print strategy of a product category of up to $600M in annual revenue

  • Lead the development of assortment changes, build the customer experience, and coordinate gathering and creation of content

  • Develop catalog and product merchandising strategies with internal partner teams to integrated marketing goals, while providing effortless customer experience

  • Analyze and provide SKU selection input using financial metrics

  • Lead catalog and product strategies for Copywriters, Designers

  • Create pagination to meet catalog layout goals using STEP publishing tools

  • Build product ads using data and content to provide customers with easy decision-making criteria

  • Conduct competitor research to build merchandising decisions

  • Conduct cross-channel merchandising research to support revenue goals

  • Develop strategies for merchandising enhanced content

  • Lead research and acquisition of product content using images, selection guides, and other enhanced content to help customer product selection

You Have:

  • 4+ years of professional experience

  • You want to accelerate growth and expand market share. You like to promote change, and navigate uncertainty. You like to learn about new products, technologies, industries, and tools.

  • You have strong analytic skills to use large amount of data in ways that facilitate decision making.

  • Expertise in catalog direct marketing, knowledge of multi-channel marketing a plus

  • Basic financial analytics experience

  • Project management experience

  • Proofreading skills

  • Knowledge of desktop publishing

  • Knowledge of content database systems (Stibo STEP) or Sharepoint a plus
