Job Summary

Responsible for planning College recruitment efforts consistent with the overall staffing objectives of the organization. Liaises with business managers and leaders relative to their staffing needs. Evaluates various colleges and other learning institutions to determine an appropriate fit between their undergraduate and graduate programs, while ensuring that the needs of the organization are fulfilled.

Responsible for the full-life cycle of campus recruiting including: coordinating recruiting activities, differentiating Walgreens internally and externally by providing guidance toward the pipelining and recruitment of diverse talent, establishing relationships with campus placement offices and faculty, and relationships with internal clients. Works with various HR Groups as it relates to campus recruitment. Addresses concerns from stakeholders as it relates to campus recruitment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the enterprise-wide Campus Strategy by creating and updating campus resources and tools (such as Webinars, Campus Team Training Manuals, Toolkits, Campus Presentations, etc.)

  • Leads campus recruiting projects related to the development and implementation of strategies through data analysis, report generation, project tracking and communication. Drafts reports that include schedules, tasks, deliverables, and budget, while keeping all stakeholders informed.

  • Works closely with the Director of Recruitment to ensure projects align with campus recruiting strategies.

  • Creates and maintains the corporate internship activity calendar, attends/facilitates all corporate internship events. Works closely with the business to create diversity-focused college marketing/recruitment campaigns.

  • Responsible for end-to-end recruitment of interns (from application, to interview management, to offers, to dispositioning candidates). Acts as the main point of contact for interns, intern candidates, and program partnerships internally and externally.

  • Works with business managers and leaders to contribute to the creation and execution of new internship programs. Works with Director of Recruitment to build out the Campus Strategy for new internship programs.

  • Liaises with HR Shared Services (HRSS) to resolve issues that relate to campus recruitment and to update recruiting-related content on various webpages (e.g. MyHR, Storenet, etc).

  • Acts as the subject-matter-expert for the talent acquisition (TA)/customer relationship management (CRM) software for Campus Recruiting. Ensures business groups (e.g. field recruiters) know how to use TA/CRM software. Responsible for creating and updating new forms within TA system for Campus Recruiting.

  • Partners with HRSS to design all campus-recruitment related processes (ex: Event Registration Process, and On-Campus Interview Process).

  • Partners with D&I Consultant to handle the administration of the Diversity Donation Program (STAC), a program that provides financial support & donations to learning institutions for the development of D&I initiatives.

  • Responsible for tracking, aggregating, analyzing and reporting campus recruitment data trends and insights across the organization to business leaders.

  • Identifies return on investment for all campus relationships and program partnerships.

  • Liaises between Talent Acquisition Partners/Business Partners and the campus teams to understand specific recruitment needs and formulates specific college-recruitment approaches.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience working with hiring managers, talent acquisition partners, D&I partners, recruiters and leaders or High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of experience working with hiring managers, talent acquisition partners, D&I partners, recruiters and leaders.

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and clients.

  • Experience working with HR systems such as applicant tracking systems, talent acquisition systems and CRM.

  • Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

  • Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.

  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

  • Experience with MS Office Suite.

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels.

  • Willing to travel at least 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience in campus recruiting or High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of experience in campus recruiting.

  • Experience working with recruiting events and career fairs for a Fortune 500 company.

  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).

AveXis is advancing cutting-edge science, starting with our proprietary gene therapy for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). We are in the midst of an incredible journey and are looking for passionate individuals to join us on this important mission. AveXis, a Novartis company, is dedicated to developing and commercializing novel treatments for patients suffering from rare and life-threatening neurological genetic diseases. Our initial product is a proprietary gene therapy approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of pediatric patients with SMA. In addition to developing a treatment for SMA, AveXis also plans to develop other novel treatments for rare neurological diseases, including Rett syndrome and a genetic form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis caused by mutations in the superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) gene. In order for patients to fully benefit from these transformative therapies, a series of critical global policy issues must be addressed. These issues range from accelerating diagnosis of genetic diseases, to lowering barriers to the development of therapies for rare conditions, to forging innovative models to expand access to therapies. Having now introduced the first systemic life-saving gene therapy to patients, AveXis is poised to lead the way in shaping the external landscape and influencing policies to enable more patients to benefit from gene therapies. The Senior Director, Gene Therapy Public Policy is charged with making this vision a reality in the US market. Responsibilities * Maintain an up-to-date perspective on existing and emerging policy issues in the USA that are relevant to gene therapy. * Develop a strategic policy agenda for gene therapy for the US market that enables our vision to deliver more gene therapies to more patients. * Guide the implementation of the policy strategy in the US market, working closely with US Public Policy and Government Affairs colleagues at Novartis. * Develop action plans for major policy objectives with defined deliverables. * Ensure strategies, policies and action plans are understood by key leaders across the organization. * Provide the Government Affairs and Advocacy colleagues with information and tools to effectively engage in the US market on behalf of AveXis / Novartis. * Forge and advance strategic alliances with a broader range of US stakeholders relevant to gene therapy (e.g., policy groups, trade groups, payer advocacy groups, MCOs and PPPs) to advance the implementation of key policy positions, coordinating with other key AveXis functions (e.g. market access, medical affairs) and with Novartis. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Medicine, Science, Law, Public Affairs, or Business preferred * At least 6-8 years of experience in a Public Affairs-related or business organization setting in a senior level role with significant international exposure. * Broad knowledge of the biopharma industry; understands key concepts related to drug development, HEOR, access and reimbursement, and commercialization. * Good understanding of and working experience in the US biopharmaceutical market. * Good understanding of the key policies and regulations of the pharmaceutical sector in the USA. * Familiarity with the key stakeholders in the area of rare diseases is an asset. * Creativity and vision to define and advance a world-leading strategic policy agenda in a pioneering therapeutic space. * Pragmatism and action-orientation; ability to translate policies to concrete, achievable goals, and to lead execution against those goals. * Strong interpersonal skills; builds relationships by identifying common goals and engaging in a transparent, trust-building manner. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to travel up to 30% mostly within the USA.
