Key success factors will be in managing the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics assigned to each product line to impact the overall logistics team goals surrounding on time delivery, material spend, and factory cycle times. The key focus area for 2019 is improving the On-Time Delivery and lead-times for our top customers. Simplify the material ordering process using make-buy decision techniques and through successful negotiation with our current supplier base (from a Material Spend standpoint). Negotiate with key suppliers to reduce overall material spend while improving quality and delivery (to impact purchase price variances).


  • Communicate with senior management regarding the capabilities, capacity and lead-times as well as with suppliers / support groups to drive to a 90 plus percent on time delivery metric

  • Create and manage RFQ proposal packages

  • Determine customer needs and set delivery dates based on incoming orders, Kanban needs and production capacity

  • Maintain and drive to improve the manufacturing metrics and KPI's that link directly to IDEX's top line objectives

  • Sustain the bill of materials and manufacturing operations in ERP

  • Negotiate favorable purchase variances with each of the key suppliers

  • Responsible for managing inventory levels through obsolesce review and measured by the products inventory turns

  • Schedule equipment and prioritize work orders on the manufacturing floor

  • Set up and maintain manufacturing jobs and templates in ERP

  • Work closely with the ERP system to formulate procurement and planning strategies that are in alignment with the company's objectives



  • All qualified candidates will have a 4-year college degree in a related discipline along with an APIC's certification (preferred)

  • Success in this position calls for a detail-oriented person who has very strong organizational skills and an excellent work ethic

  • The ability to work in a small team environment is required, so we will be looking for evidence of strong written and oral communication skills as well as a willingness to tackle any challenge

  • The opportunity will require a mix of manufacturing, technical, and computer skills

  • The person should have experience in a manufacturing environment and a familiarity with MRP or ERP systems

  • The right individual will also show strong initiative and will be able to work with minimal supervision

  • The right person will enjoy the challenge of a dynamic, small company environment and be able to efficiently create the manufacturing schedules for the different manufacturing departments based on sales and forecast needs

  • Some weekend and second shift support will be required (as well as ~25% travel)
