Job Duties

Virginia Tax is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to help transform agency operations, by aiding with systems analysis and design, and business process re-engineering.

With a complex, highly integrated, application environment that is critical to the agency, taxpayers and the Commonwealth, this position will work with business and technical staff to develop requirements and formulate systems designs, that ensure the needs of both Virginia citizens and its government, are met.

You will manage projects that improve efficiency and validate that new systems or application changes are functioning per design. You will be on the front end of solving agency problems by offering alternative solutions and expertise to assist with our most complex business opportunities.

Help us to straddle the line between Information Technology and the Business to improve agency efficiency by becoming part of a highly motivated team of analysts, developers, and business experts to create solutions that focus on customer service and operating efficiency.

This position requires experience performing business systems analysis and design.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule

The three days of Office work may be in either the Richmond or Norfolk VA offices.

The anticipated hiring salary is up to $85,000 and is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to translate business requirements into functional/reporting requirements by working closely with the business stakeholders and other experts to understand their needs.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to facilitate meetings and establish working relationships.

Additional Considerations

Ability to write and decipher basic SQL statements

Experience using Microsoft tools such as Excel and Word

Knowledge and experience in the tax industry
