Senior Business Systems Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 9-10 months with possible contract to hire

Business Initiative/Purpose

ESR's investment initiatives are central to resolving identified threats, vulnerabilities, gaps, risk, and issues within Client's organization. Client continues to uncover these types of opportunities, and if left unattended, will negatively increase Client risk posture. The Sr. Business Systems Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex business systems based on industry best practices and Client's IT objectives. Acts as the liaison among the stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate business and system requirements using industry leading practices within the business analyst profession. Ensures all requirements are fulfilled by the technical design. Reviews the test plan, test cases and test scripts ensuring traceability to all requirements. Applies industry best practices to improve Client's current practices. Develops recommendations to improve processes or techniques. Determines the overall requirements gathering strategy and plans the requirements phase of the project including the work division strategy among the project BAs. Manages the progress and quality of the requirements gathering activities and adjusts the plan as necessary. Plans the risk response strategy to be used in monitoring and controlling all identified risks throughout the requirements process. Typically leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger, more complex initiatives. Solves complex technical and operational problems. Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience.

Must have- skills / prior experience

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of IT BSA experience in Banking or Financial Services industry specifically in technology projects; software development, technical integration, or business operations environment

  • Preferred educational background with bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business or Finance or other related field required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.

  • Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.

  • Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.

  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

  • Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.

  • Deep knowledge and experience in building business and system requirements for IT solutions.

  • Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems.

  • Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes.

  • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices.

  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and writing skills

  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined

  • Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced, changing environment

Plus/nice to have - skills/prior experience

  • Experience in Cyber/Information Security.

  • Agile or SCRUM Certification.

  • Experience supporting projects related to network, data center, infrastructure, and/or information security.

  • CRISC, CISA, Security +, or GSEC certification is strongly preferred

  • SharePoint experience

Responsibilities

  • Working with Management to understand the project outlook and future efforts to be defined

  • Providing technical and analytical guidance to project team and other project managers.

Job Description & Qualifications Job Summary Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for internal customers. Ensure technology solutions align with business needs and strategic goals. Research, design, document, test and leverage business solutions. Assist in defining and planning departmental project roadmaps. Partner with clients and manage prioritization and delivery of IT services for an application module or subject area. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities * Interfaces with Business Stakeholders and IT infrastructure teams to define, gather, and document business processes and needs, and translate into detailed functional specifications for development. Performs business systems and process analysis of existing and future systems/processes. Conducts interviews and requirements gathering workshops. Ensures sign-off of all artifacts. * Coordinates requirements for new and existing applications.
