The Senior Business Systems Analyst Architect is a dual role responsible for systems process design, implementation and architecture in the enterprise applications space. A person in this role solicits, understands, and documents the customer's business requirements, processes and workflows developing both written and visual documentation of requirements and flows. You will be responsible for maintaining an enterprise applications architecture that fully leverages the capabilities of applications to meet business objectives. You will also work with developers to create the functional specifications that meet requirements, serve as a subject matter expert to the developers, and work with the team to execute testing. This role works closely with other BAs, developers, testers, and production support through each stage of the software development lifecycle and demonstrates both existing and new functionality to the customer stakeholders. This job requires an experienced analyst who can collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, drive results, proactively identify and resolve problems. In this role, you will work other IT and business colleagues to address new challenges, maximize value, and promote the use of the platforms for key business objectives and capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate comprehensive business requirements gathering

  • Manage use case development and recommend appropriate solutions

  • Develop and maintain understanding of business workflows and business needs

  • Deliver functional specifications to include functional hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface design and definitions

  • Translate requirements into functional specifications for further development

  • Work with developers to size development, build and test efforts

  • Conduct fit-gap analysis, collaborate with developers to estimate impact

  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions

  • Improve systems by studying current practices and suggesting modifications

  • Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures

  • Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation

  • Provide service, help support and train users

  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Assist development and production support teams to communicate, verify, and test changes

  • Develop training materials and provide training

  • Coordinate and facilitate blueprinting sessions, workshops and POC sessions

  • Ensure that the overall architecture is maintained in a coherent manner

  • Recommend and participate in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the enterprise applications architecture

  • Assist in aligning business and enterprise initiatives with the applications architecture

  • Advise and recommend enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies

  • Develop, update and maintain systems and application architecture requirements

  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and blueprints

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review the objectives and constraints of each solution in order to assess conformance to architecture standards

  • Recommend the most suitable technical architecture and define the solution

  • Identify implementation risks and potential impact on the enterprise

  • Establish, contribute and adhere to all key departmental operating procedures around governance, project management, software lifecycle management, change management and application controls

  • Assist with the design, development, unit testing and deployment new business functionality

  • Provide guidance on how technology solutions could help solve business and technical problems, evolve existing business capabilities, and enable new business capabilities

  • Work closely with business users and IT to provide solutions to match business needs

  • Ensure technical documentation is created and updated

  • Gather unrefined business requirements from multiple sources

  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews

  • Prepare and distribute progress reports

  • Guide in the design, development, testing and deployment of new functionality

  • Provide guidance on how technology solutions could help solve business and technical problems, evolve existing business capabilities, and enable new business capabilities

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of hands-on, demonstrated experience working as a business systems analyst

  • At least 8 years of experience as a applications/solutions architect

  • Must have a wide range of application experience, preferably in the following technologies (in order of priority): Oracle eBusiness Suite, Salesforce.com, Agile, EDI/XML

  • Proven experience with business analyst best practices and deliverables

  • Strong understanding of IT Technologies and business systems processes

  • Demonstrated experience translating business strategy into information technology strategy

  • Expertise in the design and implementation of enterprise applications

  • Experience working with enterprise architecture to develop standards and enterprise adoption

  • Extensive experience with enterprise architecture best practices

  • Deep exposure to information systems, business processes and measures of success

  • Demonstrated experience working with technology and integrated systems

  • Experience in Agile Scrum delivery framework preferred

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models waterfall, Agile and SAFE

  • Experience in building relationships with people at a variety of levels

  • Experience in applications integration to other third party applications

  • Experience in generating process maps for front-end related business processes

  • Ability to articulate to stakeholders the value of recommended approaches and solutions

  • Excellent time and project management skills

  • Able to exercise discretion and independent judgment

  • Outstanding analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills

  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Strong understanding of the ITIL framework

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science, information systems or demonstrated equivalent education and relevant work experience

  • At least 8 years of IT specific experience related to architecture, analysis, development, testing, or equivalent experience

  • At least 8 years of knowledge and experience working on enterprise applications

Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

Computer Skills

  • Oracle eBusiness Suite, Salesforce.com, Agile, EDI/XML

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
