Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the product owners and business analysts to gather, validate, and translate business requirements for one or more of the following functional areas; member, provider, claims, constituent services, financial services

  • Configure the OMMS solution to meet operation requirements defined by the product owners and business analysts

  • Ensure non-functional requirements are considered as part of the solution (e.g. reliability, availability, security, usability)

  • Identify and alert project leadership to project risks and issues which could impact adherence to project timelines and budget

  • Ensure timely and effective execution of all deliverables

  • Understand business objectives and how technology can optimize and enable solutions

  • Collaborate with QA team to ensure testing efforts align with functionality

  • Lead and mentor other Business System Analysts

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years of business systems analysis experience

  • 2 years working with Agile development methodologies

  • 2 years creating features & user stories and translating those into technical solutions/requirements

  • 2 years working with technical developers/engineers

  • Available locations: Columbia, SC (first preference) Eden Prairie, MN; Salt Lake City, UT; Santa Anna, CA; (locations considered second) with Raleigh, NC; Basking Ridge, NJ (alternate considered locations)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medicaid experience

  • Ability to understand and build technical solutions for complex health care problems

  • Local to Eden Prairie, MN; Columbia, SC; Santa Anna, CA

Job Description The Senior Business Systems Analyst is the key liaison between a high-profile client and the Merkle Technology Teams. This is a highly visible position, as the Senior Business Analyst elicits and drives requirements and initiatives at multiple levels of detail for a Merkle client(s). The Senior Business Systems Analyst should have a strong attention to detail and is entrusted with accurately documenting requirements and acceptance criteria for a project. Key Responsibilities * Interface with the client and multi-disciplinary teams within Merkle (Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Database and Data Warehouse Developers, Project Managers) to support the solution delivery process * Synthesize complex and contradictory information into concise, readable, unambiguous written requirements at multiple levels of detail * Take primary ownership for written requirements specifications, from initial creation, through change management and solution delivery * Take direction from Project Management regarding schedule, scope, and cost trade-offs * Assist with the delivery of the system into production by designing and supporting the formal client acceptance process, according to Merkle's defined standards * Accurately document requirements and acceptance criteria for Merkle-Marketing solutions * Perform analysis of new data for inclusion in a marketing database using SQL, and ad-hoc analysis of data in the database to support the requirements process Qualifications * Qualified individuals possess the Merkle attributes of being smart, curious, committed to vision, passionate, fun/pleasant, an achiever and having a sense of urgency. * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * 3+ years experience with writing detailed requirements specifications for IT solution delivery with a significant database component or database focus - consisting of at least 100 distinct enumerated requirements * 3+ years experience as a business requirements analyst with full life cycle software implementations (SDLC) involving large databases * Experience with test planning and use cases * Skilled with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio * Strong SQL experience to conduct much data analysis, research and queries. Owner in this process * Willingness to travel when necessary (15% ) * Ability to thrive in a complex environment and rapidly master complex data structures * Exhibits intense curiosity, to dig beneath the superficial and identify facts Ideal candidate has experience working with the Google Cloud Platform, Tableau reporting and Oracle Responsys or similar marketing campaign platform.
