Senior Business Support Analyst will perform analysis, design, development, maintenance and administration of computer hardware and software systems to meet business needs. Perform any of the following functions: monitor and administer servers and related platforms; or maintain, configure, and monitor network and/or telecommunications infrastructures and related system components; or maintain and configure Human Resources Capital Management (HCM) to ensure system business needs are meet.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Acts as a liaison and consults with departmental customers and stakeholders to identify and analyze business functions that can be improved by enhancements to existing applications or through the implementation of new hardware and/or software solutions.

2.Translate business requirements into system deployments. Perform professional-level systems maintenance, customer support duties, and program with object-oriented languages.

3.May serve as a project manager over routine systems-related projects, small to medium in size, and require limited staff and resources and perform other related duties as assigned.

4.Investigates, analyzes, plans, determines requirements, designs, builds, customizes, tests, implements, maintains and/or enhances a variety of hardware and software systems.

5.Provides customer support to departmental end users for system-related software and/or hardware issues and/or network needs, or requirements; interacts with clients to analyze system requirements; recommends technology solutions to improve operations. Offers guidance as necessary.

6.Prepares technical documentations, procedural plans, reports, correspondence and other documents.

7.May serve as main client interface on assigned technology projects which are small to medium in size, and require limited staff and resources; reviews recommendations with clients and receives approval to proceed; coordinates project activities with vendors and internal technology staff; maintains effective communications with users regarding vendor activities, problems, status, timelines and other details; ensures compliance with County specifications and drives resolution of project related issues; monitors project budget and scope to ensure they remain within agreed upon parameters; reviews final outcomes with clients to obtain sign off that all work has been conducted in accordance with client requirements.

8.Performs various system quality assurance activities; tests, troubleshoots and debugs system issues using appropriate technology; prepares and executes testing plans to validate functionality and resolve issues.

9.Provides project-related data in easily accessible format useful for planning purposes and to assist with stakeholder needs.



  1. Coordinates design, development, integration, and implementation processes with system programmers, network analysts, database administrators, and server administrators to implement new or modified application software and/or ensure inter-operability across multiple platforms and technologies.

  2. Interacts with clients to analyze their business requirements and recommends technology solutions; identifies and maps business processes; gathers user requirements.

  3. Participates on committees and task forces; attends meetings, conferences and training sessions.

  4. Provides systems support to users of particular applications.

  5. Provides after hours technology support as assigned.

  6. Incumbent(s) in this classification may handle sensitive and/or confidential records, plans, documents or decisions that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

  7. Any one position may not include all duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent performing the essential duties listed above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and four (4) years of experience as it pertains to the purpose of the position. Any equivalent combination or related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:

1.Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.

2.Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.

3.Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.

4.Employee must have a valid New Mexico driver's license by employment date and maintain a valid NM drivers' license while employed in this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1.Work is typically performed in an indoor office environment, but occasionally requires travel to other locations.

2.Work environments may include noise, dust and/or unpleasant odors, and may occasionally require work in confined spaces.

3.Occasional evening, holiday and/or weekend work may be required.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND MATERIALS

1.Equipment typically used in the performance of office duties include telephone, computer keyboard, computer printer, photocopy machine, facsimile machine, and calculator.

2.Materials and products handled in the course of performing essential duties include files, forms, reports, various other paperwork, and a wide variety of basic office supplies.
