About The Job

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Senior Business Planning Analyst in the Finance Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for performance management reporting and analysis and profit planning functions for a specific set of business lines and/or support areas. You will coordinate the activities of several senior level managers to maintain these functions together with their supporting systems, you will also work with Senior Officers of the Bank to interpret and report results to both executive and senior managers.

The chosen candidate will provide staff support to SVP/Financial Planning and Decision Support and CFO in the areas of Line of Business (LOB) Profitability Planning, Performance Management, Pricing, Efficiency Analysis, Incentives and other projects as assigned. You will be responsible for maintaining Longview LOB models to forecast the Balance Sheet, Provision, Net Interest Income, Staffing, Capital Expenditures and all other operating expense items. You will provide the balance sheet, non-interest income and non-interest expense inputs to the monthly ALCO corporate forecast as well as insure the Longview LOB forecast concurs with the ALCO forecasted Net Interest Income

You will also propose and/or recommend various courses of action as appropriate. You will remain current in all aspects of financial, regulatory and profitability accounting and reporting including thorough knowledge of the Bank's general ledger.

  • Line of Business Models/Rolling Forecasts

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting with 4-6 years of increasingly responsible work experience in managerial accounting to include experience with complex profitability accounting or a high degree of experience with and understanding of one or more LOB.

  • Advanced aptitude and skill in computer systems and work experience in utilizing complex computer systems and knowledge of system interfaces for data management

  • Advanced problem solving skills and ability to analyze data from diverse sources and research finance and accounting literature.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain dependence. Must be able to objectively and professionally disagree with Senior and sometimes Executive, management when direction given is in conflict with published accounting standards or inconsistent with other known data points.
