The University of Southern California Administrative Operations is seeking a Senior Business Officer II to join their team! This position is responsible for the business operations of Office of Legal Affairs and Professionalism and Human Resources (General Counsel, Outside Counsel, Office of Professionalism & Ethics, Office of Compliance & Ethics, Audit Services, and HR). This position is also responsible for overseeing accounting and financial operations, short and long term budgeting, strategic planning, personnel and payroll administration, and facilities and equipment planning and management, along with directly supervising business management staff.
Manages business function of Administrative Operations through delegation of responsibilities to professional business management staff.
Oversees processing of daily transactions and preparation of final reports for internal and external distribution.
Develop, monitor, and reconcile departmental budget; provide forecasts and projections; monitor expenses
Provides regular and special financial reports, as required
Has responsibility for determining that strong internal controls are implemented.
Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal financial policies and procedures.
Interprets applicable laws, rules and regulations, as well as university financial policies and procedures. Interprets financial policies and procedures and ensures department's compliance with same.
Professional experience in higher education is desirable.
Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in an active work environment with shifting needs and priorities.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree; Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum experience: 7 years; Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
Minimum field of expertise: Knowledge of accounting and internal/external requirements. Navigating policies, procedures and systems and use of computerized spreadsheets and databases.
