The AMZL ACES Programs team is hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) in the Analytics space to support both On Road and Under The Roof program teams. The Analytics team is responsible with providing all reporting solutions required by the program team to drive process improvements to drive programs impacting safety, quality and cost to completion The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and ever-changing environment.

This role will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to deliver insights that drive decisions and actions. The role will involve translating broad business problems into specific analytics projects, conducting deep quantitative analyses, communicating results effectively and building tools that speed up decision making. We see a high potential for influence and growth in this role as we transform our data into actionable insights to continue to fuel the growth of this business. The role will help the organization identify, evaluate, and evangelize new techniques and tools to continue to improve our ability to deliver value to Amazon's customers.

Key job responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design automated solutions for recurrent reporting (daily/weekly/monthly).

  • Design automated processes for in-depth analysis.

  • Design automated data control processes.

  • Collaborate with the software development teams to build solutions.

  • Learn, publish, analyze and improve management information dashboards, operational business metrics decks and key performance indicators.

  • Improve tools and processes, scale existing solutions, and create new solutions as required based on stakeholder needs.

  • Perform monthly variance analysis and identify opportunities.

  • Drive roadmap and sprint planning cycles, participate and support business reviews, annual planning and goal setting exercises.

About the team

Analytics team will be supporting the data and reporting needs for UTR and LMDX program teams within AMZL ACES. The requests for the team ranges from simple adhoc data request to building complex dashboards that are part of S-Team goals. The analytics team also provides learning grounds to learn new skills and implement them real time to improve customer experience. The solutions provided by the Analytics team provides on-time and accurate data for our program teams and help them deliver programs that improve safety, cost and quality to both our internal and external customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
