• Position Summary

• The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions. This is the third level in a three level career path in which the individual will work closely with end users, managers, directors, senior management and external constituencies across business functions on complex requests. They will investigate data, analyze user requirements, and provide solutions to present information through reports, analyses and visualizations. Must have the ability to understand the business questions and translate those business questions into analytic solutions. They will collaborate with business analysts, architects and customers to provide high value technical solutions.

Delivering those solutions will be achieved by developing, enhancing or maintaining standard reports, analyses, and data extracts. It is essential that the Senior Business Intelligence Developer build an understanding of MaineHealth customers at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues.

Incumbents in this role lead/mentor team members, manage small projects, design analytics solutions, and creates documentation. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is a professional, confident leader who is knowledgeable about the larger organization and industry including such things as organizational focused goals and industry trends.

• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training/certification in business analytics, master's degree preferred (Or equivalent work experience)

• License/Certifications: N/A

• Experience: 7+ years of experience as a business intelligence developer or related technical experience; 7+ years of experience with a programming language (MS-SQL preferred) or related technical experience; Must complete mandatory training requirements within 2-4 months of hire/start date; Healthcare experience preferred.

• Meet all training requirements outlined in the 'Epic Environment and Support Security Standards' in order to gain access to appropriate Epic environments

• Experience working with Business Intelligence software programs required (examples include: SAP BI Suite, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, IBM Cognos, QlikView, or QlikSense)

• Demonstrated experience in producing technical documentation

• Demonstrated experience with report distribution, build and testing strategies required
